A cute camera and cookbook.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hub is perfect for video calls. I love the way it zooms in and out while using it. I also like the fact it's a hidden camera and I have the option to capture video or not. It has a great speaker for music and comes in handy when needing to look at a recipe while cooking.

Nest Hub Max is a great value for the smart home
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best hub max has been great for us. It’s a good way to view different apps and tv while making meals. I can pull up different recipes while cooking. It controls my smart home bulbs and devices as well. The added bonus of the camera on this is nice for the piece of mind of checking up on the house while I’m not there. We have the regular size nest hub and the speaker sounds much better on the full size unit.

Versatile communication device
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Max. I look for recipes, weather, general info all the time. Have one in my kitchen, bathroom and home office. Watch TV programs with You Tube TV when I'm getting ready in the morning in the bathroom. Make video calls with Duo. Create my grocery list each week and syncs with my phone when I'm in the grocery store. Turns on my lights. Communicates with my Nest thermostat. Planning to next get cameras at front and back door to view on my Max's. I love these little buggers!

Good sound, Nest works with many smart devices...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nest works with many smart devices... but not all. I am using this device in our kitchen. Overall, I am quite happy with this device which has good sound and is very usable for short video calls, and is really great for looking up recipes overall. There's a new 'pause' gesture as of Dec 2020 that is supposed to pause a video when you hold your hand towards the unit palm out, but it is not working for us. (Yet?) If you have other smart devices in your home, check them for compatibility and if you're not all-in on one platform, just be aware of what integrations you might be missing. I'll give two examples of video cameras. I have both Arlo and Ring cameras. Arlo is a 3rd party who doesn't make smart assistants like Google, Apple or Amazon. Their integration with Nest / Google Home is fair. I can usually get my cameras to display on the unit, but the Arlo video doorbell sometimes will not display, and if it does, it will display sideways. I also have a Ring camera on my garage and it won't display on the Nest at all.. very likely the reason is that Ring is owned by Amazon, who probably thinks of Google Home as a majority competitor to Alexa. My Liftmaster/Chamberlain smart garage door opener integrates to Ring, but not Nest, but I haven't tried actually installing the Chamberlain myQ app on the Nest. (It works fine, of course, only Android smartphone. As does Ring.) At any rate, I would absolutely recommend this device UNLESS you have nothing but Ring cameras. If you have only Ring cameras, you probably should buy an Echo Show instead. I do have some experience with Alexa and I think that Google Home gives better search results when asking natural language questions. If you ask about trivia or historical things, you're much more likely to get the right answer from Google, as of this review (1/11/21)

Great sound, easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely an upgrade from the google (nest) hub. The bigger screen makes using it a lot easier and it also has much better sound with the subwoofer. Similar to the other it utilizes most of its set up via the google home app which at times can be frustrating. It is very reliant on voice to accomplish most of its tasks which can be either a plus or minus. For instance, it took me almost an hour to set up making google duo calls on it because it all had to be done through apps and setting up individualized profiles on the hub max. It would be easier to have a native app on the device so that my kids could use it which is the reason I bought it.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was lucky to snag this during the Black Friday deal from Google (I would probably re-consider if I hadn't gotten it at the BFCM price to be honest) and I was shocked when it arrived how much bigger the display is. With the camera, it also proactively can tell you're in the room and will welcome you and personalize the display based on who it sees. I don't use it for calling, I just wanted a bigger display in the kitchen so it was easier to see from further away.

Favorite of all my google devices
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have many google nest devices (i.e. Nest Home, Nest mini, etc) but gym nest hub max is the best! The 10 inch display and amazing speaker quality is pure. Only complaint I have is I wish it had more bass, however I’m sure the Google Home Max is where it’s at for the bass tones I want. I have recommended this product to all of my customers as I am an electrician and anyone looking to add cameras in and outside the house. This display does it all view all your cameras in one spot! 10/10

Excellent Smart Display
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not had great luck with any Nest product but the Nest Hub Max is an excellent quality smart display that is easy to use. The screen is a perfect size for a place like a kitchen countertop. The screen looks great and the sound is very good. There is a lot of customization to suit your needs. The camera is excellent. I have had this for just over a year now and it has been working well. No problems! I just wish all Nest products were this good.

Great Display for Photos or Duo Calls.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The packaging of the display was well done. Plugging it installed what it needed. I was totally impressed with the screen. The setup shows you how to use the hub. The colors are vibrant. I like the fact you can watch youtube videos or chrome cast. I tested the Duo calls with it and it has a great field of view of the camera. It follows the person around which is nice unless you don't like that kind of thing. The audio is great. I have hue lights and it can tell me on the screen how many lights are on and what the temperature is in the house. You can either touch the lights and it will list the lights you can turn on or off. There is a room view which gives all your connected devices. I have hue lights and Samsung Smartthings and it works seamlessly. There are some things that aren't integrated yet. Specifically, the only way to start a routine is by using your voice to start the routine or using the screen. There is no way to start a routine such as a Smartthings multipurpose sensor to actually tell you a door is open. This is minor and I'm sure this will be incorporated soon. The display is a great display and the camera can be used for a security camera. I have nest cameras and you can watch the feeds of the camera's. I don't have the Google Nest Hello but I saw videos that when the doorbell rings it will show the person at the door on the screen. I would recomend this display to anyone.

Pretty Cool Gizmo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the Nest Hub Max. We already have a Google Home speaker, a couple of Minis, and a few Insignia-branded Google Home alarm clocks, so this was a natural addition. The kids like to watch videos on it or use it to tell the TV (AV Receiver is Google Home connected) to play cartoons. The best part is that, because I also have connected cameras, I can tell it to show me who's at the front door, what's going on in the basement, etc. Saves me from going to the door if it's just a solicitor or a squirrel.

It just works!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're in the free Google ecosystem, the photo displays, video calling, etc. works great! Tracking and zooming in/out on the people talking in the room works smoothly and clearly for both video and audio. Music is not audiophile quality obviously, but it can get quite loud without distorting and carries robust midrange for the average joe. Retail price is still more than I think it's worth, but cost for what you get is everyone's personal opinion.

So far so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased mines a few hours ago and I'm glad I held off from buying the older version as this one is awesome, the only issue I have is that my ring cameras wont work on it but my Phillips hue works though.

Big screen. Google home. No apps. Limited uses
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, it's a Google home, with a screen for weather, time, and other limited uses. Nice big screen on it, would be nice to be able to use for so many other things. I have this in the living room where it fields the majority of my questions. Pairs with the nest cam doorbell nicely and I can stream the front door on it, however it exits the stream any time you ask a question. The kitchen is attached to my living room although I've never used the device once for recipes, I do use it frequently for timers. I don't use YouTube for tv or entertainment so that feature is wasted on me. I envisioned using it to stream the security cameras I already have, like I do on my phone with a generic ip camera app, nope, can't install any apps on it. It's NOT a tablet. I COULD replace all my cameras with nest cams, but I'd be replacing my $500 professional grade ptz cams with $200-300 versions of an HD webcam. No thanks. About half as functional as I thought it would be for me, but I'm keeping it in the event they actually do something cool with it. Overall the speaker sounds nice, and gets to a decent volume. I wouldn't say it rivals the big "B" name brand speaker, but it's ok, and better than the home mini.
