The speaker output is clear and loud. Low end is pretty good. I will say there is some latency issues when I try and sync my home group speakers. I've adjusted but it still isn't perfect. This is great and well worth it. But, is it necessary? It depends. I have 3 kids. This gives me the ability to contact them when I'm not him which is great. Also, being able to use Google Duo the quality is amazing. Great buy!

I have the entire system from hubs, to speakers, to cameras and security! Google home connect flawlessly and trumps any other smart home system! Highly recommend!
