Microphones on Google Home speakers or display and are used for a variety of purposes, including to capture voice commands, and as a sensor to detect specific sounds or to detect motion nearby. Though you can toggle the mic on or off switch found next to the power cord, to interact by voice with Nest Hub, the microphone must be on.
When our connected home devices include cameras, microphones, or environmental or activity sensors that detect information about your home environment, we'll list these hardware features in the device's technical specifications — whether or not they're enabled. We'll also more clearly explain what types of information these sensors send to Google, as well as examples of how we use that information, to help you better understand their purpose. Posted .Hi there, DanB. Thanks for choosing Nest Hub Max. We can see that you're experiencing some challenges when using the device for SlingTV. Some video apps such as SlingTV may require you to link the app account to your Google Account. You can follow the steps below:
- Make sure your smart device(phone or tablet) is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Nest Hub Max.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap your account.
- Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Nest Hub Max. If correct, tap to close the account window.
- At the bottom right, tap Settings.
- Under Services, tap Video.
- Under the video app you want to connect, tap LINK.
- Complete the sign in steps.
