    Google Assist doesn't work with Hopper3

    Really like my Nest Hub Max except for the miss leading advertising by Google and Dish that the Google Assist works with Hopper 3. All other features work great but if you are buying with this feature as major importance, DON'T buy it.

    The tablet that serves as a smart display is a nice idea. However, this smart display is very limited in its implementation. Google Assistant is a hit or miss, apps are limited, Nest gave me an error and couldn't connect. What gives? Overall, I'm not satisfied with this product. It's been returned

    Trying to figure out how to keep it from answering my cellphone. Says to delete google assistant but I need this app. Has to be a way just have to look into it some more.

    Great display for our kitchen, our best is connected to it, it does get a times finicky when playing music. iTunes doesn’t always connect

      Hey there, OXI102840. Thanks for leaving feedback about the Nest Hub Max. We’re glad that you like it, but we’re sorry to hear that your music experience is less than ideal.

      A range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your display. It can pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the camera and your router as these items could block the connection. Read Troubleshooting Wireless Interference here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9276282

      We also recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested, which can happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. If your display is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.

    Love the way pretty much how almost everything works but the fact that, you can't adjust the angle view of camera. So I have to wedge it if you're sitting position is lower than the hub. Really disappointing coming from the know it all Google

    This is my second for my home but somehow it gets confused when I give a command. When I command my bedroom hub the living room answers. Not too smart after all but too late to return so....

      Hi Breville, thanks for sharing a review about your experience with Nest Hub Max, and it's unfortunate to learn of your issue with the performance of its Google Assistant.

      If your bedroom Nest display is having a hard time picking up your voice commands but the other Nest display works fine, there’s a possibility that the bedroom display is having trouble connecting with Google. We’d like to rule out the possibility of your Wi-Fi connection being the cause, and if you haven’t yet, we suggest the simple steps below:
      - Unplug your Nest Hub and wait for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for the device to reboot, then try to ask the Assistant your question again.
      - Reboot your modem and router.
      - Try to switch between 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz network to see which band is more reliable
      - If there are nearby devices that may cause interference, such as microwave ovens, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Wi-Fi routers, try to move your display to a different room, or to move it closer to your router.

      Also, Retraining your Nest display, to better recognize your voice, and adjusting the Hotword sensitivity may be helpful with the issue. You may follow the steps on these help articles:

    I like having the ability to stream YouTube tv and apple music to the device. I notice at times the screen will turn black when I'm in an application. I have to 'hard reset' the device on occasion to correct.

    I love all the features it has, but it's been fustrating trying to get my music playlist that I created in youtube to play and also not all of my photos that I downloaded to Google photos are showing on my Photo frame.

      We appreciate your feedback. We're glad that you loved all the features of your Nest Hub Max. We do apologize for the frustrating experience trying to play your YouTube playlist. You may need to get the premium subscription to enable this feature.

      Google Photos automatically attempts to select what it thinks are the best photos from your Live Albums and Recent Highlights. From your existing private and shared albums, Google Photos attempts to remove bad photos (blurry, poor exposure, low resolution, near duplicate) but will not otherwise curate the contents of your albums. You can completely turn off curation for private and shared albums when you change the “Personal photo curation” setting to “Live albums only.” No curation at all is done on your Favorites. Also, if photos in your private and shared albums don't appear and you expect them to, turn off curation for those albums. To do this, change the “Personal photo curation” setting to “Live albums only.”
