    I've got a Google home and love all my Google products, except the Nest Hub Max. This device needs to be constantly restarted due to multiple errors. The device rarely shows my cameras, yet I can hear sound. The apps like YouTube Tv constantly crash. This is a glorified smart speaker with lackluster features and applications that don't work. Very disappointed Google and even more disappointed that there are no future features to get excited about.

    Don’t buy

    This smart home device is a joke. It broke in less than two years. Google can do nothing since the warranty period ended. Do not recommend. I was using it as a way hoto frame and music player occasionally, it has limited functionality and minimal lifespan. Google doesn’t value their customers and build products that will break once warranty is over.

    Does not disappoint

    It was a great buy, have this set up in my dining room, i cant chat with my family or have full security cameras when were on vacation.

    I prefer alexa. I got this bevause of my nest cameras but liked the alexa better. Put it in my sons room he broke the cord and they tell me their isnt a replacement sooooooo it sits in my basement replaced with an echo show 10

    Over-priced picture frame

    I like that it does a photo slideshow and that's about it. But it's a worthless piece of garbage. If I have a question I have to say Is it 3 or 4 or more times before I get a response. And a lot of the time the answer is I don't know. That's not why I purchased this. I asked what's the current temperature was and it gave me the Wikipedia definition of temperature. It's not a smart home, it's a very very dumb home. Very disappointed and wish I hadn't wasted my money. If I wanted to ask half a dozen times to turn the lights on I will get a boyfriend instead of a smart home. I wanted something that would listen. Smart home does not.

      Google Assistant might not activate properly when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment. Also, being specific with your query will help you get better responses. Make sure Nest Hub Max recognizes your question correctly. Ask the same question to see if you will get the same answer. Retraining your Nest Hub Max, to better recognize your voice, and adjusting the Hotword sensitivity may be helpful with the issue. You may follow the step by step guide on these help articles:

    Poor interface with YouTube TV

    Nice platform but very disappointing performance. Specifically it’s reliability interfacing with YouTube TV is poor. Probably 75% of the time when you ask it to play something on YouTube TV, it can’t find it and says it isn’t available even when it is playing on the TV in the next room. Even simple requests like “play CBS Evening news” or “play the national championship game on ESPN” on YouTube TV” it says it isn’t available. This is especially disappointing since Google owns both of them!

      A range issue or wireless interference can cause your Google Nest devices to disconnect from your Wi-Fi. Try moving your Nest display a bit closer to your router. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the Nest Hub and your router as these items could block the connection.     Have to say "Hey Google" 3-4 times to wake it up

    Man is this thing frustrating. Have had nothing but amazon smart devices up to this point, but bought this for the huge clock for my bad eyes at night. Amazon is MILES ahead in voice recognition. I have to constantly say "HEY GOOGLE" at least 3-4 times to wake this worthless thing up. There is an option to turn up the voice recognition which is utterly useless. If you want something that hears you the first time every time, go Amazon. Get this if you want to wake up at 2:00 am after falling asleep with your lights on and yell "HEY GOOGLE" at the top of your lungs 4 times in a row to have it turn off your smart lights.

      Google Assistant might not respond properly when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment. Also, being specific with your query will help you get better responses. Make sure Nest Hub Max recognizes your question correctly. If you haven’t tried yet, Adjusting how sensitive Google Assistant responds to the hotword “Hey Google” may also be helpful. Please see the steps below:
      - Open the Google Home app.
      - At the bottom, tap Home.
      - Select your Nest Hub Max.
      - At the top right, tap Device settings Settings and then “Hey Google” sensitivity.
      - If you don’t find “Hey Google sensitivity,” first tap Audio.
      - Choose how sensitive you want Google Assistant to be when it responds to you.
      - To change this setting on another device, tap Adjust more devices.

    Stopped working in less than a month

    We had our google for less than 1 month. We played music for about an hour then it stopped playing. The next day the same thing. Today I walked past the google and it made a loud noise and the screen went blank. Of course Best Buy can’t do a refund because it’s past 15 days. Obviously, the issues arise after the return date is met.

    Great for NEST house, not for Social Distant Vids

    The reason I got it was to have some hangouts with friends. But somehow Google did not get the memo that conferencing is the new hotness. You are limited to only video calling one person. I ended up returning it. Everything else was great about it.

    Stops connecting to WiFi making it useless!!

    We had high hopes for this device. Having an elderly parent living in our home it was a relief to be able to view the camera during the day while we were at work to make sure all was ok. Well, that only lasted a short time before this device bricked itself and stopped connecting to WiFi. After searching this topic it is apparent that this is a problem with this device and there isn't a fix. Come on Google give it a firmware update...

      A range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your display. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. If you're experiencing a spotty connection or weak signal, we recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. This may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. If your display is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.
