This is such a cool device to have in the house. I enjoy when it greets me when I walk in the room. It is easy to turn music into surround sound by easily adding in my other Google speakers. It does take some getting use to regarding how to operate it. Definitely spend some time to learn how to use it so you avoid frustrations.

I bought a standard Google Hub to use as a smart device and clock. I like to watch YouTube while I work in the kitchen and used my tablet but it was difficult to position so I could see it. When the Max Hub came out I bought it right away. Now I can watch videos in my kitchen, listen to music, ask a question, set a timer, pull up a recipe... I can have the home screen display a clock or pictures. I love my Max Hub!

I am pleased with the Nest Hub Max and getting more out of it than I expected. The sound quality falls a little short of what I'd call HiFi, but it's way better than a table radio (if you can remember those), and a lot better than some of the smaller smart speakers. The display is bright, clear, and colorful, and I love using it as a photo frame. I appreciate the physical video/mic mute slider switch, which gives some confidence of privacy when turned off. When turned on, the microphone is VERY sensitive--it will respond to your wishes from anywhere in a fairly large room. It may go without saying, but the buyer should consider which devices they want their smart speaker/display to be compatible with. This being a Google Product it enjoys the ability to share notes with Google Keep, display Google Photos, and play YouTube, and of course it meshes with the Nest product line. If you have Ring doorbell, on the other hand, you may want to look into Echo devices instead. There is one annoyance that Google really needs to take care of: the inability to assign a different wake-up phrase. If you have other Google-Assistant-enabled devices (like your smartphone) within earshot, they are going to respond to the same "Hey, Google." Another minor criticism I'd make is that the "skill" set here is not as extensive as with Amazon's Alexa line, although at the same time, the integration with other Google products is a distinct advantage. The integration with Google Keep is a newly enhanced feature that allows one to display Keep notes on this device, which provides a workaround for the fact that you can't otherwise enter your own recipes into the Hub Max. Now you can add a note to Keep containing your recipe, and voila, it's available on the Hub. It would be nice if the same integration could occur with Google Drive, but it's not there yet. Your Google Calendar is also integrated into this device, but the implementation is limited, as is also the case with Keep--both feature overly large type--preventing one from looking at a full day's schedule on the screen, which is large enough to do so.

We pitched this as a central unit to control cameras, music, etc. from our kitchen. My wife also loves having the ability to Google search for recipes, set cooking timers, and video chat with family. We love this addition to our Google home automation.

I gave this to my mom and dad and they love it. They are both in their late 70's early 80's and they have no problem using it. I have them linked to our Google Photos so they're able to see them with our having to try and load pictures. They have it in their kitchen and my dad uses it every day for different recipes. Today he made us creamy braised cauliflower soup! It was amazing and he was able to do it because of the max.

I had a trouble with Wifi connection, other than that it has a large beautiful screen with good sound

Overall, happy with functionality, display, and sound. My elderly in-laws were looking for a digital photo frame, but for the same price, this performs that function but so much more. They now can also use this for video chats using zoom, Google Duo, etc. Only difficulty in set up was trying to get it to recognize my voice as an additional user.

I love this. I have it in my secondary home in Mexico and works fine. Does everything i need it to do.

I set up my smart home with google products and I have to say does not disappoint. I love the easy interaction and having all devices under my control and the ability to allow others to have access to my google home.

This google hub max is the best smart item to have in the house.it is a addition in our home. The capabilites are very helpful. I love. No regrets with this purchase.I purchased on sale for $129.00.

Bought this for my wife since she cooks and bakes quite a bit and needs something to make the time go by. She can watch TV, play some music, assign timers by food group and look up recipes and convert quantities from standard to metric just by asking. She loves it. Great investment.

Love it. I use it when I'm cooking and can play games without touching. I do admit figuring out how to get photos in the right folder so that the hub max and show them was a bit confusing but once it is set up it is so easy to add more photos. Love that I'm able to control whatever is in the home through it. Also I used it for a pet cam while I was on a trip and it was so helpful.

I was perfectly satisfied with my Google home mini for years and the nest mini was a familiar but welcome upgrade. I knew I'd been missing out on bass and what not, but the fullness of this sound is amazing! If you enjoy crisp full music with bass you can feel but you're not ready to commit to a proper surround sound system, this is the perfect purchase once you get over the sticker shock
