3 inches is a huge upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had the original Nest Hub prior to this. It was our room speaker for any music we played, and on occasion, we would use it to play videos for our twin babies. Only problem was, they would often climb up along their play pen, just to get a better view of the videos playing. But with the Max, that changed instantly — now they watch from anywhere in the play pen, thanks to the three extra inches. Not to mention this doubles as a camera, so now we can step away and check on them with the Nest or Home apps. Overall, I recommend it!

Can't get much better than this
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a huge Google Product fan for a long time, and when I saw this I couldn't resist buying it. Large enough screen to see from anywhere in the room but not too large where it's obnoxious. Quick Facial recognition shows you your own personal updates, such as weather, news, travel times and etc, all to your liking. The sound is great, picks up voices clearly while rarely accidentally activating to other activity such as a tv. Not even mentioning Google Duo, Google's video call program, can be downloaded on any device almost, clear calls, and when used with the Google Nest Hub Max, if you would like it can even zoom on faces to keep the focus on you, and blur the background to hide a messy room or etc, Highly recommend!

Above expectation
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My smart home assistants: Echo dot -- broken not long after purchase. Google home -- can't always hear me. Echo spot: it's good but the screen is small and it's not very intelligent. I finally got the nest hub max and I love it and here is why: 1. Big screen with good resolution. 2. Good sound quality and it can be loud. 3. Can always hear you in loud environment or even when you whisper. 4. Much smarter than Alexa in terms of understanding your commands. 5. You can cast videos (mostly YouTube) or music from your computer or smartphone to it while you browse the web so that it can be your secondary monitor.

Very useful product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good one, but with some small issues. Calling another person, for example, turned into an adventure of setting up and back and forth, especially that we started the device using one of our corporate accounts. Other than that, good sound, nice visible screen and the clock I can see without glasses. The light from the device is not invasive, it is pretty nice having it in the bedroom. Once we learn all of the commands for Google Assistant, it would be even better.

Nice but pricey
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really dig my Nest Hub Max for a main room that functions as a central home control device. Nice picture, good sound, and easy interface BUT its not as responsive as I would like and its SUPER pricey even years later.

Worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hub is great from viewing people at the door with our doorbell and it is very clear. Then when we need to ask it a question or play music the sound is so much better than an Alexa! Considerably better! This was on sale when I bought it, which is why I felt that I should try it on sale. I will definitely be keeping this! It’s so easy to use.

Great Home Technology Device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to set up and operate. Ask "Hey Google" and it will tell you how to use it. Wife loves ability to do facetime calls without having phone in her hand while cooking. Camera acts as security feature while we are away. Able to adjust my Google Nest thermostat by simply saying "Hey Google change temperature to 73 Degrees".

So Helpful
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hub has been extremely helpful in allowing me to multitask in the kitchen. I have 6 month twin boys that keep my hands full. I use the hub to bring up recipes, turn on/off/dim lights, video phone calls w/ out of state relatives that want to see the kids (quality is awesome and the camera follows you around the room) and of course voice activate spotify on it. Also if I'm in the middle of cooking I can play sesame street for the little guys so I can hopefully get through a recipe. I can do it all with my hands full using my voice. I also recommend using it to remember b-days & appts. The AI is not perfect there some minor quirks but nothing that takes away from the experience. Enjoy!

Amazing Nest Hub
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device because the screen is larger and you can actually make and receive Google Duo video calls on it, In addition to viewing the Nest doorbell video, this device has a bunch of features. It has facial recognition so it says good morning and good afternoon to you if it views you. It can be used as a video camera in your home if you need to monitor your home. It is a pretty nice device with lots of features. The Next hub allows you to access your Google home devices on the screen in addition to being able to stream things like NPR, Bloomberg, iHeart radio. I think it also allows you to watch Netflix on the screen. Cannot say enough good things about this device. I love the timer feature. It allows you to start multiple timers where are great when you are cooking.

Very Nice Upgrade!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to use in our Living Room for music and just general info. I've had it in my cart just waiting for it to go on sale so it was an even better value. We've been using the Google Home and it sounds good but this sounds sooooooooo much better! I love the screen because it displays info about what song is playing and any information it has on what you're asking. I never thought just having a picture of something would make such a difference. I also love how it will show the status of all my Google Home devices. Great purchase!!!

The best Google assistant yet
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Google home and Google mini's. The Google Hub Max is on another level. I wanted something for my kitchen so I could watch TV (sports) but also use the other features of the Google assistant like setting a timer. This was a way for me to get my TV service (Youtube TV), TV and speaker all in one. I was originally going with a TV and a streaming device but then I would need a Google mini as well. I paid a little more for this but couldn't be happier. The picture quality is great, the max was better because of the bigger screen size. I'm not even using the full functionality yet. I'm looking forward to testing video calling soon.

Great home hub but terrible office assistant.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting: Office Goal: Smart speaker to make work phone calls and have my calendar readily available Phone: iPhone 13 Pro CALLS: This did not meet my expectations to be used as a smart speaker nor as a bluetooth speaker to make work phone calls. Using it as a bluetooth speaker was unreliable. Using it as a smart speaker by asking it to call certain people requires the use of Google Duo. I got it to work to the point where the call recipients would see my name (instead of a random Google number); however, Google Duo (as of Feb 2022) has a significant voice volume limitation - I could barely hear the person on the other end of the call. CALENDAR: A work calendar-only setting is susprisingly NOT available. The hope was that I could have a calendar-only view at all times and maybe go to a photo viewer as a screen saver if necessary but that was not possible. This device wants to be all of the things, all of the time- home hub, calendar, weather, news, YouTube, etc. Attempting to get it to do one thing only (e.g. Calendar) is almost impossible. Functionally, this is very much a home hub situation...as in, it's much better as a passive piece of equipment in the kitchen or living room to do smart home tasks, watch some videos, get Google Assistant to run tasks or searches. 4/5 STARS: Previously, I've used Siri, Alexa, & Google Assistant and I believe Google has the best smart hub assistant. However, all phone calls go over Wi-Fi by using the phone's contacts and essentially creating a virtual phone with your. name on it (have to manually add that feature to show your name on the recipient's phone). Google does this through Duo the same way Amazon Echo devices use Alexa. Google Duo is also, respectfully, absolute garbage... it could be so much better, but it isn't! Note that I am using an iPhone so there may be so incompatibilities there. The HomePod actually controls your iPhone directly, which is much more convenient but reliability of consistent performance just wasn't there with the HomePod (original & mini) either. Some of the features on the Nest Hub Max are fantastic for use as a home hub- having it pull up music, YouTube videos, controlling smart home devices (e.g. Hue lights)- I would definitely recommend it for those tasks, specifically.
