I just don’t like how I cannot hear or communicate with someone in that room.

One thing that is not overtly advertised about this is that not only does it act as a Google home hub but also as a Google nest camera. So if you have a nest setup of indoor/outdoor cameras then this can be part of that as well. Google products are always an easy setup and this is no different. If you have the room, the money, and the need than this is a good buy.
