Major upgrade from my previous thermostat.A little pricey.Hopefully I will save on my energy bill in the long run

Nest online support was helpful with Nest's compatibility with the heating system at our home. They guided us with the wirings needed with nest. It was super easy to install and has been working great for few months now. Only nit is the smart scheduler which sets up weird schedules based on one time temp change. Disabling this "smartness" was easy though, so no stars deducted.

Looks great, easy to use, extremely convenient, simple installation. Buy it.

Very stylish and cheaper than generation 3. Installed at my vacation home in Truckee, CA. Can program to raise room temperature ahead of arrival. Tells you how long to reach target temperature. And also tells you outside temperature in addition to room temperature. Recommend professional installer. My engineer friend offered to install it. He short circuited the furnace instead. I ended up spending $$$ to fix the furnace and install it by a professional.

I got this because I like the schedule feature where I can set the temp for different times of the day. I would always have to turn the thermostat up in the morning (no need to cool the house for 8-10 hrs while I'm not here). Then when I get home it would take awhile to cool it back down.Now I set it to a warmer temp at the time I leave for work and to come back on to cool the house about an hr or so before I get home. Its also cool to control it from my phone!

I've been rather pleased with my pair of Nest thermostats. Its not been long enough to do an energy analysis but they seem to be at least nudging the energy use a bit. Its very interesting to look at its reports both online and on the phone. Its also quite handy to be able to adjust the temp when going away and when landing at the airport. That said they are pretty expensive - a little hard to justify. I also miss having the clock like my old 'smart' thermostat had.

We are using the Nest thermostat and smoke detectors. They are fairly easy to set up and very easy to program. The Nest advertises their thermostat as a learning thermostat, but we chose to disable that function. I wanted complete control over the product. My favorite aspect of the system is that we can make changes to temperature and settings from my iPhone app. So easy!

Install took less than 10 minutes. This is such a quality item, love the heavy-duty feel of it. I love the mobile phone app and being able to control the heat from anywhere. From minute one, it worked perfectly. Full-featured packed with lots of nice options including energy efficiency tracking. Worth the money!

I installed my Nest v2 with only one slight problem as it wouldn't connect to my WiFi at first. I made some changes in my router settings and it's been smooth sailing ever since. My wife and I work different schedules so it is difficult to know when one of us will be home or not. However, with the app on our smartphones we can easily set the thermostat before we leave work and have the house at a comfortable temperature when we get home. I highly recommend the Nest.

I received and installed my second-gen Nest thermostat about three weeks ago and was initially very happy with it. Simple to install, beautiful, easy to use, it is certainly all that.

install is simple and set up quick on android. ocassionally the unit comes off line.. but i think this is more o router poblem i have.

Easy to install, and setup. Has amazing features, great energy saver!

Pros: 1) Installation was quick and easy. Took around 30 minutes. 2) Very easy interface to enter details. 3) Downloaded the app on phone and I was all set to control it from phone. 4) Very good looking. Cons: 1) My first issue is it's basic functionality to show current room temperature. I always felt it overstated it. Double checked with my old thermostat and I was correct. 2) Sometimes proximity sensor does not work to wake up the display. 3) Price is an issue for me. It does what a basic $25 thermostat will do, not worth $200.

I was deciding between this thermostat and the ecobee. After looking at the demos in store, I decided to go with the Nest bc the Ecobee only had three temperature settings - home, away and sleep or something like that. I wanted to be able to have more than three settings per day just in case. Initially I had a problem with the Nest connecting to my network. It wouldn't access the network to give me the needed key to set up the app and web access. I called in to support and they couldnt figure it out, but after leaving it alone for a few hours, it did some type of software update bc I noticed the icons changed and then it accessed the network fine and gave me the key etc. It has worked fine since then. I let the Nest do its learn function and after a week it had my schedule pretty much where I wanted it. I ended up manually tweaking a few things to get the times exactly right. I ended up turning off the auto away feature bc I have pets and didnt want it too warm in the house while I am at work. The programming is pretty easy. If I ever deviate from the temperature i have scheduled it picks up the next point on the schedule without missing a beat. The app works well and looks nice. Overall I am very happy with my decision to go with this thermostat.

I was very excited to get the Nest thermostat for our new home, and upon purchase, I hurried home to do the install. While the install was very easy, the instructions for doing the install were not as detailed as I would have liked. There is a part for example where you are plugging the wiring in from the wall to the thermostat, and it seems like it should click in (it doesn't), but all the instructions say are push the wire in. My only other issue was getting used to the thermostat's functions. Setup was very easy and walked you through step by step, but once that was done, there wasn't a lot of detail on what to do going forward. After playing with it for a couple of days though, it began to get familiar and since understanding how it does what it does, it's a breeze. In fact, after about two weeks of owning it, and adjusting the temp to our family's comfort level, I don't think we've touched it since. It has done all of the work in learning our scheduled preferences, and I love the energy usage detail. Even in Ohio where the temperature changes can fluctuate greatly, it doesn't seem to skip a beat. I would definitely recommend this thermostat, and my only advise to those looking to purchase is to sign up for the online account as that helped me understand a lot.

This product is great. The price at first might scare you away, but in the long run it is worth it. It was easy to set up and when I did have a issue with the wifi part the support was great easy to explain. I have had this unit for 30+days and have not have touch the thermostat any more after it learned your habits. The house stay comfortable at all times and a/c does run all day. In all this product has not let me down. It great if you have pets.
