This nest saved me a lot of money. My air conditioner was on most of the time before I bought this. Now it's really smart and turns off when I'm not home. Saves me about $80 a month. The one thing it doesn't do if you have two nests is turn off the air or heat automatically if they control both or even if one is for heat and the other for air. You could end up with air and heat on at the same time. So you have to be careful of that.

After one month of use in the winter I was able to save $15 from my previous months bill, even with the average temperature being 3 degrees cooler than the previous month. The auto-away and smart schedule features are great. Only issue is that sometimes the auto-away overrides the set schedule and have arrived home with the house the away temperature.

Works great, easy to use, and easy to install. The WiFi features are very nice and just as easy.

I expected I would try to install it for a few hours before I gave up. I was so pleased that it was installed and working within a half an hour. We no longer have to ask a weekend house neighbor to go over and raise the heat before we arrive. Exactly what I wanted. However, since we don't go up every weekend the smart thermostat raises the heat every Friday. We just turn it back down from our mobile phone. Very happy with it.

I've been wanting to get involved in home automation for some time now. I love the fact that I can connect my nest to the internet and control my thermostat, change the schedule, and configure other settings from my phone, no matter where I am. If it's the middle of the night and you're too cold or too hot, then grab your phone off the nightstand and quickly change the setting by opening the app or using Google Now voice commands (requires you to set up "Works with Nest" first). I recently went on a trip to Japan, and my Nest recognized that I was not home since I was not connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Nest. It set itself to Away and did not run the daily schedule while I was gone --exactly what I was hoping for. It learns by your habits, as well. If you change a the temperature at the same time pretty often, it will start to adjust your schedule accordingly. It really is a learning thermostat. It has saved me headaches and time.

i read some bad reviews before purchasing the nest but also read a TON of really good reviews. so i figured i'd try it out... i have no complaints at all about it. installed it in about 15min & this is the first time i have ever connected a thermostat. i really like the ease of programming, being able to connect thru app & on the computer. would definitely recommend.

I got this unit to replace an old thermostat unit. it was easy to setup and works great.

We bought the Nest because we liked the idea of easily being able to control our thermostat using apps on our phone, and we liked the idea that Nest is a system that learns and adjusts the more you use it. So far, so good. Nest does it's thing, we do ours, and, together, I feel like we're using less energy this winter than before. And that's what we were hoping to get out of this in the first place.

I went to Best Buy about 6 times looking to purchase this thermostat but was scared I wouldn't be able to install it, plus not knowing whether it was a 2nd generation from looking at the box or label, but couldn't find anywhere. Finally purchased, after the Nest company made me comfortable about installing myself. 30 minutes, turned AC unit back on and have been happy and enjoying my Nest Thermostat.

It is very very easy to install. I'm not a DIY specialist but the pictures made it very easy. It's nice not having to walk to the other end of the house and just turn it on from your app. I tend to turn it on mid night when I get hot. You always can set it to keep itself at a certain temperature too. Btw just get it. Super convenient. First item you should get as part of your home automation setup

The Nest is already working better than my old Honeywell programmable thermostat. We always had a hard time keeping the house cooled in the late afternoon. Now, no problem. Didn't change anything except the thermostat. The family finds it fun. I like that you can set a timer to run the fan manually which is just enough to get the stuffiness out. Works great with the app. I am also using it with the IFTTT app to keep the A/C from running when it is not too hot and all the windows are open. Only complaint is the old thermostat had a time display which was handy to look at. I wish Nest would show the time with the temperature and I wish it would also display the current outdoor temperature. All things it knows but you have to go looking. Finally, I would really like a remote temp sensor that the Nest can reference and average temperatures to help keep AC or heat running when the kitchen remains too hot or too cold.

This thermostat beats all expectations. It learns as you go. Very easy to install.

great product, easy to set up and extremely easy to use. have been using this for two months now and love the fact that even if i forget to turn off my thermostat when i leave home, i can always turn it off using the app and also turn it on when heading home and come to a warm house! absolutely love my nest !!

The Nest Thermostat was so easy to install and works great. We recently had a heat wave in my area and I was able to cancel out the Away mode and cool my house down before I got home from work. When I walked through the door the temperature was perfect.

Because of my varied schedule I thought a connected thermostat was a good idea. Connection has always worked. Easy to set. easy to learn. I like the ability to adjust the setting BEFORE I get home. My old thermostat had a fan setting to keep it running on a very low speed to keep air circulating then run higher when the furnace ran. The nest doesn't have this option and I kinda miss it as it kept the temp more consistent thru out the house

It has been very helpful in cutting down electricity cost and it looks modern and stylish on my wall.

The Nest thermostat was very easy to install and is easy to adjust. It looks fantastic too. the only complaint is that the mounting plate (that we needed to use in order to cover previous holes) is white and stands our on our walls. It would look much more aesthetically pleasing to have the unit mounted directly to the wall. We have had it running our AC for about a month. I haven't seen much change in our our energy bill yet, but after seeing the reports and amount of time until the house reaches our selected temp, I'm confident that we will be saving more energy this summer than last. Also, our local utility company is an energy partner with Nest and has a rebate program for households that install a Nest thermostat. In return we get alerted when there are days that energy conservation is needed and our thermostat will be raised a few degrees, but will still be set at a comfortable temperature.
