The nest is a super sleek, well designed product. A ton of work went into designing both the product and the user interface. Nest must have some of Apple's designers working for them. If you changed the name on the box no one would have any problems believing it was designed at One Infinite Loop. Once you get it installed, it's pretty easy to use. The directions are clear and easy to understand. It takes a week or two to learn your patterns and then it starts automatically setting the temp for you. I think in our large house with many people adjusting the temp we have confused it during the learning period. It is constantly adjusting the temp for us and someone then has to readjust our temp. The good thing is the web interface. You can easily adjust your temp from an iphone or ipad. I would recommend buying it to almost anyone.

Absolutely the best thermostat out there! Bar none, it is a bit of a luxury but just the ability of being able to cool or heat your home when your on your way and have it be at the exact temperature by the time you get home is worth the price!

I love home automation and all the products that are coming out. It was very easy to install, there are forums to help with any issues. You can control everything from the app on your device. It learns how often you turn heat/cool up or down. Saves on energy cost! A must for those that like technology.

I installed the Nest thermostat in 5 minutes flat and I'm no handy man. The greatest thing about this thermostat is remote control. I installed it in a mountain vacation home about 5 hours away. Instead of walking into a freezing cold house, I can heat the house up 4 hours in advance and walk into a house and know exactly what the temperature is. The product is really plug and play. Some advice: don't hide your wifi network ID (router SSID). If power goes out, which did happen, Nest did not find wifi. Ended up unhiding, resetting Nest, and simulated a power outage. Nest worked fine afterwards. I love this technology and this product. I ended up buying two more for my primary residence.

Installation was super easy. Works great! Awesome features, especially the mobile phone app and remote access. Solid design and looks pretty cool.

Very good product solidly constructed of quality materials and extremely easy install. Nice thing about this is that any software glitches can be corrected by future software updates, so you are always kept up to date as long as you are connected to your wifi. We have not noticed any problems whatsoever and it even dresses up the wall. You can even get an accessory that monitors smoke/carbon monoxide and will notify you of issues. I'd imagine that it is expandable in the future to meet more home automation needs. Won't own any other thermostat now.

I was hesitant about purchasing this thermostat and debated on it for months. I finally went for it and let me tell you, this thing has already lowered our electric bill immensely. Imagine someone micro-managing the conditions in your house 24/7 without having to bother with it...Nest is amazing!

I dont have the best insulated house, my furnace kicks on a lot to keep it warm. Even having an old thermostat that you can set to turn off or keep heat down when you are away isnt enough. Sometimes I come home later than normal, yet my furnace is scheduled to kick on at 430 everyday so house is warm when I get home. If that day I am not home til 7 I am heating my house for the spiders to enjoy for 2.5 hours. Well I can say I saw over 50 dollar reduction in my energy bill the first month using nest. Nest is so smart it see's when you are home and learns your schedule. Not to mention when I am warm or cold and want to change the temp I can do it from my phone on the couch, dont have to walk upstairs to the thermostat. The energy savings alone will pay for this in no time. Dont wait go get one now, seriously.

I was looking to replace my 1980's thermostat in a house my wife and I recently purchased. I thought I'd go ahead and buy the Nest to hopefully save some money this winter (first Midwestern winter, coming from Atlanta, wish us luck!). The thermostat was easy enough to install without an electrician; the instructions were well written. It's been installed for about a month and it's learned our bedtime and wake up times and some other weekly things we do so that's nice. We are also looking to upgrade some other things to home automation products, so this will be a part of that. As I titled this, we'll see if it's actually worth the money since this thing is very expensive.

First of all I love having anything that will further help me make my home automated. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment in southern Arizona, and nest has been a life saver. Being able to know the temperature of my home at all times during the summer is great! I keep it around 72 degrees F for the dogs. I was able to connect my Life360 account to Nest so it knows when to set Nest to "Away" and "Home". Nest is worth the money!

The smart learning thermostat is no joke... It's legit! Look, there's a reason it's the #1 best seller in the market... So if you are looking for home automation, go no further. The Nest is quick and easy to install and what's even better is that the 2nd generation nest is now 20% thinner!!!!

This thermostat is really awesome, love the fact that you can control it with your phone or your Logitech harmony when your watching a movie. Also it remembers your patterns through out the day and gives a energy report every month to see where your money is going. Would recommend it to anyone.

I have two of these in my home, and needed three more for a business location. These thermostats have saved me so much money on my utility bills, that they pay themselves off in no time. The access i have from my phone/tablet is great too. No need to pay a company like Vivint (and others) a monthly fee for an app you can have for free! I bought this thermostat in an attempt to control my energy efficiency at home. So far I have seen a big drop in how often the heat comes on. I love the away feature that keeps the system off when we are away. I am worried about how well this will work on the summer but we shall see.

Great product. Love the energy usage data and learning capabilities. It looks really cool too! Don't be lazy and use the included plate...fix and paint your wall so it looks perfect!

Ok so I've had this running for about a month and I'm still learning new things. A couple of my favorites are the heat cool mode. It automatically switches between heat and AC without having to manually change the units. This keeps the house in a specific temperature zone. This is awesome at this time of year with the huge exterior temperature fluxuations. I'm also using IFTTT to link Nest with my Hue lights and wifi etc so cool. I had company last weekend and all but one of us had left the house. Nest knows when residents are gone and IFTTT sent me a message telling me someone was in my home while I was away. That's an awesome added security feature! Remote programming is so great too. I could not be happier with my Nest....unless it could pay my utility bill that is :-)

This is the second Nest in our house. The install was a little more complex due to the heating system - heat pump plus AC plus aux heat plus emergency aux heat. Nest customer service walked me through the install process, which ended up being short and simple with their help. Visualizing the energy usage on a daily basis is worth the money. Our energy bill has definitely been reduced. It isn't magic, but it makes intelligent decisions and helps home owners take control and make better decisions regardless of where they are. I'm a believer.

The nest thermostat is very easy to set up and very easy to use. That comes to no surprise as the creator of the ipod also created the nest thermostat. I constantly use the iOS app available for it to make sure my house is at the right temperature, especially during the summer months.
