I purchased this new thermostat when I got a new A/C unit for my apartment. This replaced my programmable thermostat, which was not wi-fi ready. The Nest was easy to install, although I had to call their tech support for a question. It was also very easy to program and set up on my network. Now I can control the device from my iPhone, iPad or Computer anywhere. We shall see whether it helps to save money on my electricity bill or not.

I'm absolutely impressed with this device! It installs flawlessly in the same spot I had the old and outdated analog thermostat, using the same wires. The plate that comes with the unit even cover the same area, so I don't have to even retouch the painting!!! And it works wonderfully over the Internet, so I can command my home temperature from distance, just before leaving the office. I guess this will save me lots of money in the long run.

This product is great, installation was quite easy. I've had it for about 2 months now and it has already resulted in about 25% gas and electrify bill usage through Dec and Jan. I can see more room for future improvement. The initial investment can definitely be offset by the energy savings.

I have been using the Nest for a few weeks now and I have been impressed with the features on this thermostat. It is great when paired with the app. Using a mobile device to adjust the settings means it is sure to be comfortable all the time. It also helps that I can adjust it when I'm gone.

This is the best thing to have in your house ever. It is so easy to setup, only took about 10 minutes. It connects to your WiFi and then you can access it from any phone or tablet and even the computer. This gives you the ability to changw the temp in your house from anywhere. Its the best.

My family got this for me for Christmas because I'm sort of an energy savings geek and had started eyeing cheaper WiFi-enabled thermostats. I was shocked to get it and would never have spent that much on my own, but I of course received the gift in the spirit in which it was given. All that said, the device and the apps/Web site behind it are really solid and well-done. It's not been in service for quite a month and I can already see savings start to occur. It does learn your schedule fairly well. It's so practical being able to turn down the thermostat on my smart phone when we're going to be away for several hours and then crank it back up before we head home. On the negative side, there's a rather long list of WiFi routers that it doesn't work well with, including my Verizon FIOS router and it kept failing to reconnect and forgetting my WiFi settings until I switched to another that I happened to have. After a 15 minute or so power outage, I had to re-input my WiFi settings yet again. I was about to send it back because all of this happened in the first week, but it's behaved well since then. I'm guessing that this device will probably pay for itself in two years or so, but it's a big up-front investment.
