I have had the Nest for 2 months now and it's awesome. One of the nicest features is the auto-away function. Sometimes I forgot to set my last thermostat to away when I left on a business trip, with the Nest's auto away feature, I do not have to worry about it!

first installed in our primary residence several years ago. just added this technology to multiple vacation rental properties we own. only issue is your account can only have two homes in it, so I have multiple accounts in order to see 3+ homes.

I have already started seeing the savings add up. It is so nice to turn the temp down when traveling. We used to just let it run. Now if we forget about it we just get on our phones and it's taken care of.

This thing is awesome!!! If I am coming home early or staying out for the weekend, I can access my thermostat and schedule it from anywhere with my smartphone. The basic scheduling is better using the web app on a computer/laptop than a smartphone but the phone app is great nonetheless. Install was so easy next to the Honeywell version that this was fun to do from the start. I like the retro look and as it's clean looking, many people comment on how nice it compliments my 1950's home.

Very pleased with the product, and ease of use. It has "learned" effectively and working like a charm.

Nest is a wonderful product. It's manages your cooling and heating system with minimal fuss. The only thing it does not do is alert you when you are falling outside of your general use. For example failing air conditioner using more electricity causes spikes in energy use. Otherwise a wonderful product.

The Nest thermostat was extremely easy to install and has been working great since installed. After about a week it learned my working schedule and started to go to auto away while no one was home.

The NEST is full of useful features. It learns from from your temperature settings over about the first week and then uses them without further input. It connects of the internet over WiFi and can be controlled from a Smartphone with the proper free App. It uses the current weather from the internet at my Zip Code to determine how to control my desired home temperature. I heat my home with a gas fired hot water boiler and it should reduce my energy costs. It is a very useful device.

The convenience of being able to adjust the temp in the middle of the night without having to full wake myself up and walk to the thermostat is worth the price alone! Although my second favorite feature is how it has auto learned my schedule and did so in such a short time. Not having to program the Nest and allowing it to learn when I want the temp adjusted is awesome. The only thing I have found to be a minor issue is there has been a few times that it has disconnected from my wifi and I had to reconnect it from the actual thermostat which is kinda of annoying that it doesnt auto reconnect when it has lost connection. Other than that I have loved everything from form, function to design.

Don't get me wrong, this is a really nice thermostat and looks cool. However, Nest really has no comparable competition currently in the market. Operation wise - so far I've noticed that it sometimes resets my home and away schedule without me adjusting anything. Not sure if this is a bug or it's still "learning" what my patterns are. Overall its the nicest looking thermostat out there. But again, that's comparing it to a $20 Honeywell.
