This thermostat is probably one of the best home improvement items I have purchased. Not only is it functional it also looks great in my home. The app works great and having control of your thermostat on your phone is pretty awesome!

Love how seamless it works with phone app to change temperature anywhere in the house! Looks fantastic on the wall and not an eye sore.

Once installed this unit began learning my at home routine. It settled in after 8-9 days and has been regulating my household temperatures perfectly. My furnace now runs almost 20 percent less than before the Nest Thermostat was installed.

Fit and finish is great. Apps are very well put together and functional. Super easy install. After only a week it learned what temps I like and when.

Love this. Used at my house and bought one for my parents as well. Let's you easily control the temperature for all thermostats from your phone/computers and it didn't take long for it to 'learn' our patterns. Definitely recommended.

The nest is awesome, can't ask for much more. Everything works as advertised but the "auto-away" mode isn't as useful if you have multiple people leaving and entering your house at odd, unpredictable times. You can use IFTTT as a fix for this but it's still not perfect.

Got this for my husband as a gift and thus far has worked out well. I needed the air on sooner than set time, just called him and he turned it on from his phone. (just reset time) Am anxious to see the savings it may bring on the heat and a/c uses after a year of installation.

Physical install is a little tricky, but not critically difficult. Programming is a breeze given the set up prompts. Unit learns you at home patterns over about a week, so don't install if you are going to be away for awhile. Love managing it from my phone or pc when on the road. I set the temp at 55 when away, and then back to the normal temp about 2 hours before getting back.

I have been waiting to purchase the Nest for over a year now. After monitoring reviews over that time I decided to purchase one. I really couldn't be happier with it. Since I am not a 'Do-it-youself' guy when it comes to things around the house, I was rather nervous, but luckily the easy-to-read instructions couldn't have been easier! I love all the options and all of the analytics that come along with the Nest. The Autoschedule is one of my favorite features, as well as the daily reporting of how much my furnace runs and when it runs in a day.

I absolutely love my Nest. I have used them and have encouraged friends and family to get them. They rave about them as well. I love that each month they send you a report about your energy usage. Being able to program the AC to not be on full blast all day and cool the house before I get home is amazing. I would love to get the Nest Protect monitors but the cost is a bit prohibitive. All in all I would highly recommend the product.

I purchased the nest for a vacation home in the desert. I was looking for a thermostat I could adjust while away and turn it on to a comfortable temperature before my return. All went well at first. It's important to note that while the nest works with a number of of existing wiring options it still needs to be able to connect to a wire that accesses your wi-fi. I did not have the appropriate wiring, this necessitated that it be installed by a professional, so I did have it installed by an air condition and heating person. After installation all was fine, It's summer still so I set the current needed temperature for the hot desert while I was there and set the away temperatures so that the air cond. would neither run too much while away or get too hot in the house on those 105+ degree days. However after leaving the house on the second visit after install and while far away from the vacation home, I realized I needed to adjust the away temp. again as it was due to be even hotter and I didn't want the air coming on too often. After attempting to adjust the thermostat up it soon suddenly went "offline." This is what is a real issue with the nest as once it goes "offline" it will not attempt to find or sign on to your wi-fi again. You will have no more access to the nest remotely until you return to the thermostat and manually reset it. So now I will not be able to adjust the temperature prior to returning so it will be comfortable upon my return which is one of the reasons I bought it. (It takes hours for a warm house in the desert to reach a cool temp.once you turn the air cond. up). For me this is a huge flaw! I contacted nest's support only to have them tell me that indeed nothing could be done until I return to get it back "online" again. Vacation home users should make sure they leave the away temps at a place they feel comfortable with in case it goes "offline". So what can I say, other than that it works great?!

This is a wonderful smart thermostat. Very easy to install and manage. It learns one's habits, has a proximity sensor and is accessible via WiFi from any computer/smart phone. I was very excited to use the Nest, but soon found that my HVAC fan would not shut off. I triple checked all wiring (after being told that this would work on my system via the web site) but was forced to call Nest for trouble shooting. They were wonderful, knowledgable and patient, but we determined that a separate power source (common ground, 24V) was necessary for this to control my HVAC. Such was not mentioned in their check list or literature - an oversight, I am sure. Most traditional thermostats require battery power to retain settings, and do not draw power from line voltage. The Nest does - so, if you don't have a "C" wire, don't buy this. If you do, enjoy! Best Buy allowed me to return the Nest with absolutely no problem. I think they finally have their act together. My guess would be that there will be modifications in the future with gen 3.

Installed in less than 15 minutes. Super Easy. Working without a hitch. Highly recommended.

This is a super product if you want to save energy and money. The settings are easy to learn and the product is also easy to install.

I'm so happy with this thermostat! I never thought I'd be excited about a thermostat, but I love everything about this item!

I like the "learning" aspect of this thermostat, and the remote connectivity via web page or mobile app. Email notices inform of trend and savings. Looking forward to more integration of "Works with Nest" products.
