It was easy to install. I THINK we are using it right. Even went on vacation for a week and it seem to agree with our directions :)

It seems to learn fast, when you are home and when you aren't home. Much better than my old one. It took about 5 min to install.

I've had this unit installed for about a week. I had it sitting around for a while, finally got it installed, and its pretty nice. Best feature is the ability to switch the AC/heating before we get home.

I had a Nest installed professionally as part of a new HVAC system, so I can't speak to how easy it is to install. Ease of use and programming are exceptional, and both the schedule and a variety of settings and other info (daily energy usage, current house temp, outside temp, etc.,) are also available on the Web and via Android/iPhone. As most everyone else notes, it's also gorgeous, and we installed ours without the optional, accompanying wallplate. There are, however, several drawbacks that have soured my experience a little. First, although the initial wifi connection was easy, for several days it would constantly drop the connection. After searching the Nest community forums I reset the Nest and made some adjustments to my router, and I have since only had 1 or 2 dropped connections in the past several weeks. If you review the Nest forums, you'll note that it's one of the most common problems that people seem to have. Other drawbacks include a fairly wide temperature range, such that the temperature seems to fluctuate a lot before the heating/cooling comes on. Also, after a month of usage, my Nest still hasn't "learned" the time to temp feature, in which it tells you long it will take to reach a particular temperature when you manually adjust the Nest. Others also seem to have had this problem and the only recommendation from Nest is to completely reset and reprogram the thermostat. Finally, the preheating feature has some limitations. First, the maximum preheating time is 1 hour, so if you set your temp low overnight and program it to heat up when you wake up, it might not be able to do so, depending on your type of heat (e.g., heat pumps or radiant heating). Since our Nest calculated it couldn't warm up the house in time, it simply didn't switch on until the last moment and then used auxiliary heat instead of our heat pump. So, the heat pump programming seems to have some kinks that need to be worked out before next winter. If everything worked as advertised, I wouldn't mind the cost, as the overall set of features combined with its user-friendly interface are a great combination. However, since several features have proven somewhat unreliable so far, I'm not sure I can recommend it for such a high price.

I researched many WiFi thermostats and finally decided on Nest. There is no other product that could even come close to this.

This product is not only a fun gadget, but it will save you money in the long run!

I don't get an energy credit but I still think it was very much worth the investment. Everyone should get one. Tech support prior to my purchase assured me that I would not have a problem hooking it up. Its great knowing it has regulated my use of aux electric heat, and I like being able to adjust my temp prior to arriving home.

It is great to have it. Makes things easier one you when you have a brand bew baby.

This thermostat works perfectly. Hooks up to the internet to let you remotely control it from your smartphone or computer.

The concept is really good and being able to program each day is great. Not to mention you can start it from anywhere from your phone is awesome. Just the nest sense is not quite there yet!

My only complaint is that it doesn't hold the connectivity with the wireless. Every time I leave the home, it disconnects from my wireless system.

This Product is amazing!!! I love the way you can control your AC System remote and control the temperature wisely.

We've had this for approximately two months, and we love it. I talked my brother-in-law into purchasing one. I was recommended this product by my son-in-law, and even talked him into getting another one for the upstairs. We three love it, and I would recommend it to anyone who was interested in purchasing a thermostat.

Had it professionally installed, remote works great. Power savings good.
