Product worked as advertised in other reviews. After one week unit made its own decisions on when to heat or cool. Previous thermostat requires moving a switch between heat and cool. This thermostat does it automatically.

Nest - Learning Thermostat does exactly what it is intended to do. i bought this because my friend has one in his house and i was totally sold. i have no regrets.

Easy to install, it only took about 25 minutes from start to end. Once you provide temp times to the NEST thermostat for about 2 weeks the product does a great job controlling temps and trying to bring down usage.

I just love the Nest now i have control over the thermostat if i forget to turn it off i just got my phone and open the app i have the control over my thermostat

This item was a great idea for us, but wasn't compatible with our electric wiring. Had to return the product. Although I do own one in our home in TN, and it works well there. We are able to adjust temperature via the mobile app. Great features.

This is the coolest thermostat ever! It's great having an app to control while away and I can't wait to see my savings add up from the nest efficiency!

You can't put a price on convenience. Not sure if it saves money on energy, but it definitily saves time, especially in the middle of the night when I don't feel like walking downstairs to turn on the air.

Looked at this product for a long time. The price was high, I thought, but am really glad we purchased it. We are saving money and the energy report daily is a real help if you are into conserving.

I am very pleased with this thermostat. I wasn't sure about installing it myself but it went very smoothly! I called there support center for one question and they were more helpful then I expected.

Was a great product until it shorted out less than a few months after purchasing. This caused the a/c to run non-stop, causing ice to build up and freeze my unit's pipes to the point of ice building up. Paid for certified HVAC pro to come check out. Installed a cheap $20 thermostat that worked fine, called customer support to exchange and they wanted me to re-install the defunct Nest to "troubleshoot". I'm not wasting my time doing more troubleshooting, and especially after paying a professional to come check it out. Would be nice if their customer support would allow better support for a $250 product, especially if not working. This was in my business so lots of people asked about it, almost free marketing for them. I guess we'll have to tell them what happened when they wonder where it went.

This is my second Nest Thermostat. I love everything about it and the company. Wonderful customer service, easy setup and use. Simplicity. And an easy to use interface for remote management.

If you are not on a set schedule it is hard to use the auto away feature. Because it try ely learns your lifestyle. Still a good product even with the feature that makes it popular turned off

All the positive reviews about the thermostat are true, it's great I've installed three of them in elderly parent's homes. Super easy for them to use and adjust them.

I recently purchased my first home and the first thing that I noticed was an incomprehensible programmable thermostat. The instructions were provided, but the thing requires an advanced degree of technical expertise in order to operate it... oh and it was beige and ugly. When I did use it, I would change the temperature manually but even then it would 'forget' after a day or two and return the temp to some hidden factory setting stored in its memory. Being a gadget-geek, I was shopping for one of my wife's christmas gifts (an iPad mini which she has yet to put down... the diamond tennis bracelet however is still in the box. I love my wife!) I noticed the nest and made an impulse buy mostly for the elegance of it's design and implied ease of use. Upon installation, I was not disappointed. I did my own installation. As other owners have mentioned, the Nest is MUCH smaller than a typical programmable thermostat. I for one broke out the plaster, sandpaper, and touch up paint... I like things that are simple, elegant, and intuitive. You can use one of the enclosed backing panels, but it simply will not be as clean and streamlined. I love the iPhone and iPad apps, which allow me to create a manual schedule - a constant 68 degrees. And when you set it at 68, that is where it stays. That doesn't sound like much, but it was a new experience for me... a much appreciated one. The only issue I had was connecting it to my Airport Extreme. I maintained a hidden network, and Nest simply could not maintain a connection... after calling customer support (who are amazing) I decided to unhide my network and it worked without issue.

I love controlling my office and my home on the same app and only having one login when I install the app. After that is just simple use. It is a great device and works flawlessly.

Love being able to bump up the heat at our cabin in Northern Wisconsin during sub zero winter nights.

Already watching efficiency of this. Great when away because you can adjust thermostat for cool or heat savings and then ramp back up or down before arriving back home! Love this!
