Excellent investment that limits all the hassle of programming a thermostat. This really does work well and learns your habits allowing it to maximize efficiency and savings.

i fond the NEST to be easy to install and looks great. The look is modern and clean, the style is great!! Although i have not had an opportunity to use the NEST for the winter, as i only got it when season was over...the reviews have been wonderful and i am hopeful.

I love the nest thermostat. Having the ability to control temperature from anywhere in the home while having the device learn my schedule is just great. Set up was easy.

This thermostat is all it is made out to be and some. Love the convenience of being able to adjust on my cell phone.

I have been using it for a month. The setup took a 1/2 hour. The auto away feature works well, and I really like that I can turn on the fan from my phone. I like the energy history usage as well so I can track how many hours the A\C is running a day. I also like the humidity report. I actually just bought a 2nd Nest Thermostat for my 2nd A\C unit in the house. I also m using NEST protect now and like it as well. I also am doing the Energy Rebate incentive with Questar.

It was so simple to install and it did exactly what I wanted to do, it learned our household thermostat habits. Control is simple and the ability to see history/pattern on my phone and computer makes a big difference. I can't wait to see, over time, if I am conserving energy. The look of this thermostat is elegant, everyone that sees it in my hallway asks what it is and we get into these great conversations.

The Nest makes my life easier. I don't need to worry about turning it on or off because it detects when no one is home. Installation was much easier than I expected for my house, but your mileage may vary. The user interface, while attractive, can be a bit confusing sometimes as the only controls are press or rotate. Unfortunately my house has 4 thermostats and at this price, I can't replace them all with a Nest. But it works well in the main area of the house.

After using the Nest my monthly energy bill has dropped! Never would of thought it could save me so much money. Well worth the $250. Love the autoaway feature.

The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is I have not had it long enough to see what kind of energy savings it provides. Install was a snap. Set up was a breeze. So far it is a great product hopefully I see noticeable energy use improvement

Installation was a breeze. It learned our patterns quickly. I haven't had it long enough to see my power bill savings but I am certain I will see it soon.

Only have had it for a little while, but it was super easy to install and works great. It is a bit expensive, but it should lower my electric/gas bills.

Easy to install. I have never put in a thermostat before has a great online instruction. Love the way I can control from anywhere in or out of my house.

User friendly and I love controlling it from my phone ap. The only thing that's confusing is how to earn a leaf. Indiana residents using NIPSCO can apply for a $50 rebate for purchasing this energy efficient product as well!!!! WHAT A DEAL!

East to set up, and works just like promised. Wish the nest icon would show temp and color (heat / ac) on iPhone and ipad. Have to open the app to view. Looks great on the wall.

The Nest thermostat couples elegant design, ease of installation, and supports many features we come to expect of home automation and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. To begin, you can check the compatibility of your current system by disconnecting your existing thermostat and noting the names of all the wires it requires for control. Visiting the next website will allow you to type these in and it will give you a yes/no/maybe response in terms of if your existing system is compatible. One downside is that older systems may not be compatible, but there's not really much that could be done about that. If Nest doesn't support it, I doubt another programmable thermostat would. One you determine compatibility, you anchor the baseplate to the wall, feeding the wires through the center, and then crimp them into place on the back of the main unit before securing the main unit to the wall. I had an issue in which my A/C control wire didn't seat correctly in the crimp, which caused the Nest to think I didn't have an A/C unit. This was resolved by disconnecting the main unit, re-seating the wire and re-connecting. The Nest supports all manner of interesting (but probably not all that useful) features, such as a log of how many hours per day you are actively heating/cooling, etc.. etc.. The features of real value are: auto-off, scheduling (obviously), and access from a smartphone/the web. I was able to use this last feature to verify if power had been restored to my house while I was away during a power outage, which was cool. I recommend the nest if you do not already have a programmable thermostat. If you do, you'll probably need to determine if you want a new one to increase the "coolness factor" of your home (pun intended).

Even after reading the reviews on Best Buy's website (as well as other sites), I had been concerned that this thermostat wouldn't be worth the hefty price tag (as compared to traditional thermostats). As it turns out, it's way more than worth it - easier too use than I'd thought it'd be, saves money in the long run, looks good in my home, and rebates from both ComEd and Nicor definitely help offset the crazy high cost of the product. It really does learn your family's needs and it gets better every day. Highly recommend!

got the nest as our old thermostat did nothing but run constantly ... taking our energy bill right up with it.... nest was super easy to install and picked up on our habits right away... cant wait to see the first bill.
