You need the app and wi-fi. I own three, in different rooms. I Mainly listen to on-line radio stations- I live in a bad reception area. Worth the money.

The audio is much better that the first generation and the response is much better. Google assistant are great devices. If you are bore try the next thing. ''hey Google I want to say thank you to you". You might get scare. Lol

We have our whole house covered with them and grabbed one more to put in our closet to be able to hear the news and forecast in the morning. Easy to setup and use.

Was concerned of the flak these devices get about privacy. Hooked it up and after a few hours. Added another one for my bedroom. Activates lights, tv, etc. (Smart plug not included)

A little (a lot?) creepy, I've theoretically got it locked down in terms of constant listening (off) however my Google suggestions seems to 'magically' have to do with things I've discussed and not typed or entered into a computer.

There could be a possibility that this is due to your activity control settings which you may have turned on when you set up Google Assistant before. If you have Web & App Activity turned on, your interactions with your Google Assistant may be saved in your Google Account and shown in your My Activity page. You can turn these settings on or off at any time. Using the Home App, you can check the history of Google Assistant activity. You can also view details on specific activities, or delete them from your history. Your Google Assistant can still help you do things like find answers on the web and local info, play media, set reminders, and more. Depending on which setting(s) you choose not to turn on, your Google Assistant may be less personalized for you. Like the interaction with other devices. Will be expanding the system as it develops. Need a smart heated mattress pad, if Google is reading this.
