Speaker groups for Google Nest devices will continue to work once all devices in the group have been updated to the latest software. Volume and equalizer adjustments can still be controlled individually for each speaker in a group, but those adjustments cannot be made at the group level. If your nest speakers aren't able to play music as a speaker group once you move to a new home, we recommend resetting your Google Nest devices to see if it might fix the issue. Keep in mind that resetting will erase all data on your Google Nest devices, and that you may need to set them up again. Who would have imagined that you could speak to a small speaker and get all sorts of information. The Nest is like an encyclopedia. I have five Nests around my house.

Unless you are willing to pay extra for that, get yourself a radio.

I'm able to connect to my google home from the other room. Google is there to chat in the morning and keep me informed of all the day's news. Plus it tells me I look good.

Works great for this. I use it to change the channel on my dish satellite reciever and tons of other things.
