I’ve tested and used Apple HomePods, Alexa echos, and now Google Nests and none of them work perfectly. However Google’s nest system is probably the least reliable, and that’s sad compared to Amazon’s poorly design echo network. Although Google’s home app is the best by far, the device itself loses connection, doesn’t detect prompts, and often times doesn’t preform the desired action. The accessories for it are more expensive than Amazon’s and again work unreliably.

Gives her the Google assistant and music capabilities. Only drawback is the microphone sensitivity. Dial it down if you have multiple assistants and rooms are close.

Speaker groups for Google Nest devices will continue to work once all devices in the group have been updated to the latest software. Volume and equalizer adjustments can still be controlled individually for each speaker in a group, but those adjustments cannot be made at the group level. If your nest speakers aren't able to play music as a speaker group once you move to a new home, we recommend resetting your Google Nest devices to see if it might fix the issue. Keep in mind that resetting will erase all data on your Google Nest devices, and that you may need to set them up again.
