Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to learn that your Nest Mini isn’t responding with voice commands as expected.
Sometimes, your Nest Mini might not activate when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment. If this frequently happens, you can make it more sensitive to the hotword. If you haven't tried yet, we recommend retraining Nest Mini with your voice using the Voice Match feature to better recognize your voice commands:
Retrain Voice Match - On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app. - At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match. - Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.
Change Nest Mini hotword sensitivity - Open your Google Home app. - Select your Nest Mini. - At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon. - Then tap Audio. - Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest Mini more responsive to the hotword.
If the issue still persists, we suggest reaching out to our support team so that we can take a look at the issue and help improve your experience. We’d be more than happy to assist you here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Hi Messi,
Thanks for leaving your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Google Nest Mini but we are here to help!
If you haven't tried already, we recommend restarting your Nest Mini and Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection:
- Unplug the power cord from your Nest Mini, leave it unplugged for ~1 minute and plug it back in. - Unplug the power cord from the outlet, plug it back in after a minute.
If it doesn't fix the issue, factory reset your device:
- At the side of your Nest Mini, switch the mic off. The LED lights will turn orange. - Press and hold the top center of your Nest Mini, where the LED lights show. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more until you hear a sound confirming the device is resetting. - After the factory reset, you will need to re-setup your device on their home Wi-Fi network

Convenient and affordable! I have 3 throughout my home along with the google hubmax and I use them daily! Around the holidays I can play music through out the house by connecting them in the app and playing music simultaneously on all 4, it's great!

Hi Stine,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that you had an issue with your Nest Mini.
If the issue is power-related, and you have plugged your Nest Mini into more than one power outlet, and it still doesn't turn on, then the issue may be related the power adapter or Nest Mini.

All opinions are mine and regarding the piece I have
Cons:
I need to start with cons as they quite considerably outweigh the pros.
1. You need to shout for it to listen when it is playing music. Echo dot is much better. I have used both. This is "deal-breaking" serious. Nest mini users will not realise this unless they have the Echo too.
2. Bluetooth connectivity is probably 2 out of 10. Very unreliable. It is probably good only for 1-2 metres.
3. No 3.5mm out. This with the previous point makes it pretty useless for anyone looking for good quality music.
Pros:
1. Language processing is pretty good. You don't have to think like a machine and give a command (like in Echo)
2. Can be used as a Bluetooth speaker if required.
3. Control all smart devices from this device or the app on the phone.
4. Sound quality is not bad for a 1.6" speaker. But then again with DSP, this is not going to be very different across such devices. And no serious listener will listen straight from these hand-size devices anyway.

Hi Kaimanakoa, thanks for bringing this up. We’re sorry that your Nest Mini didn’t meet your expectations. Nest Minis are standalone smart speakers. While you can’t use it as a soundbar or a part of your surround sound system, you can pair it to your Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built-in and include your TV in a speaker group for playing your music, podcasts and more. We always aim to improve our products and services, and your feedback helps us improve on how we provide you and other users with better support. If you need further assistance or have any questions, you can always reach out to our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
