You can change the audio settings of your Nest Mini in the Google Home app to improve your audio experience. We recommend adjusting the treble and bass settings by following the steps below:
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Nest Hub.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap the device you want to adjust > and then Settings > and then Audio and then Equalizer.
- Adjust Bass and Treble level.

You can try to teach your Nest Mini to better recognize your voice again and adjusting the Hotword sensitivity may sort the issue. You may follow the step by step instructions on these help articles:

The quality of google's responses has drastically became poor in comparison to Alexa. If you can support Alexa ecosystem, I would say go for it over this.
