It might be weekly, once in a month or even daily (as it is right now). Google claims in the poor Wi-Fi connection. But here is the thing: second device works like a charm and never had a single issue at the same spot or nearby, so it is definitely not a connection issue. Moreover, how would poor connection cause device to drop settings and reset itself.

There’s a possibility that the Nest Mini is having trouble connecting with Google. We can rule out the possibility of your Wi-Fi connection being the cause of this issue by trying the simple steps below:
- Unplug your Nest speaker and wait for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for the device to reboot, then give a voice command to try the Assistant again.
- Reboot your modem and router.
- Try to switch between 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz network to see which band is more reliable
- If there are nearby devices that may cause interference, such as microwave ovens, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Wi-Fi routers, and try to move your speaker to a different room.
- Reset your Nest speaker. On the side of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Not a big fan coming from using echo dots
