Asking for asking for a casting device .I was told it would work outside the US by salesperson and now that I'm outside the US, I'm having issues that can only be resolved with an additional purchase. Not fair.

Being a long time Google/Android user, they just make sense. Now that I have a family, it makes our lives a bit more fun and organized. Needless to say, we already have a couple Google Home Minis. They have worked great; the functionality is awesome and the sound is sufficient. Now, we have the Nest Mini. I must say that I DO notice an improved sound difference. I listened to the same song on both Minis, at the same volume level, and I did notice that the Nest Mini sounds richer. I don't really expect much output from such small speakers. Would I have noticed the sound improvement if I didn't test one right after the other? I'm not really sure. The functionality of the Nest Mini is as expected and matches that of the Home Mini. The Google Assistant is just as helpful and responsive as usual. It's nice to have the built-in option of being to hang the Nest Mini, but it's not something I'm taking advantage of. Overall, the Nest Mini is a slight step up, but if you already own a Home Mini, I'd hold off on upgrading. If you're purchasing one for the first time, you will enjoy the Google Nest Mini.

Posted .Hi Amelia, we hear you and we appreciate you for sharing a review about the Nest Mini. It’s unfortunate to learn that it always stopped playing and never listened to your voice commands.
Try to toggle the mic on or off switch found next to the power cord. To interact by voice with Nest Mini, the microphone must be on. The switch will display orange when the microphone is turned off. If the microphone is off, it prevents Nest Mini from listening or responding to your voice commands.
Also, there could be several reasons why the Nest Mini is behaving differently, but it looks like the issue is with the performance of the speaker based on your description. If your Nest Mini is having a hard time picking up your voice commands, there’s a possibility that it’s having trouble connecting with Google. We’d like to rule out the possibility of your Wi-Fi connection being the cause, and if you haven’t yet, we suggest the simple steps below:
- Unplug your speaker and wait for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for the device to reboot, then try to ask the Assistant your question again.
- Reboot your modem and router.
- Try to switch between 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz network to see which band is more reliable
- Test with another speaker (if you have any).
- If there are nearby devices that may cause interference, such as microwave ovens, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Wi-Fi routers, try to move your speaker to a different room, or to move it closer to your router.
Lastly, retraining your Nest Mini, to better recognize your voice, and adjusting the Hotword sensitivity may be helpful with the issue. You may follow the steps on these help articles:

Out of the box, plug it in, download Home app, follow set up instructions and you are off!! The price is pretty good too - actually just saw it on black Friday sale for $25 - hello Christmas gifts! You can lay it on the counter or mount it on the wall which may be convenient for some. I found it is heavy enough to stay where I put it and there is a rubberlike bottom. I like to move it around the house so I just take it and go. The sound is wonderful and you can adjust the sound settings from the app. I have had Christmas music blasting thru the house since I received it! I have not subscribed to any music apps just using Google and YouTube music and I'm happy. I like being able to say "Hey Google" … what is the weather, time, news, and play different music. I can also set reminders and timers and change the voice options! There is also an option to turn off the microphone - not sure why you would do that though… IMO
