Overall the product Is awesome I've bought two one for upstairs and one for my bathroom. I use them as intercoms because I already have the google home mini but love the controls and how I can hang them up on the walls I hang the older ones on the wall as well with double sided strips holds real goo.

The most notable improvement is sound quality by far. This isn't going to compete with a wireless speaker meant solely for listening to music, well maybe a few of them, but it still has great sound. Voice recognition even seems to be a bit better although I don't have anything to prove it. The second generation mini has a couple of other nice things, you can hang it instead of having it on a flat surface. This one I put in my tool room in the basement, awesome addition with some smart lights to turn them on and off hands free. The power chord has changed but I don't see that as a + or -. I also like the controls, once you become accustom to them, if you wave your hand over the top it will light up. Set up is very easy and the intercom feature is pretty cool, especially when I am in the basement with no cell signal. I like the new Goggle Nest Mini and since we are coming into the holiday season getting one will be even more inexpensive. I would recommend as an addition to you smart home needs.

My Alexa sounds way better. It's a trade off its works with my Google device's and it is less playful and more serious. As with Alexa you get humor. But I use mine for music so this was disappointing.

Love it! I love the color, I just wish it could be louder, but it's great and easy to use. Can connect to a lot of my devices.

Honestly I used this once and I turned off the mic for a couple minutes and it kept talking and responding to commands as if it was on. I returned it right away.

Couldn't even use it with my app because it wasn't on the "same wifi network," however the app is too unintuitive and I couldn't fix this issue, despite being tech savvy.

Easy to use, small enough to sit on the table, without taking up to much room.

It is not recognizing our voice and responded after long time. I have returned this item.

Crackles and Google will not address this issue despite me trying

We have this Nest Mini tucked in a small nook out of the way. We have different Home devices throughout our house to make it easy to initiate voice commands. This has a very small form factor which makes it easy to keep out of sight if you wish. The sound is good and you can adjust the volume to suit your desired level. There are times where it takes longer than it should to initiate an action via voice command. It is not every time but, I would say 30-40 percent of the time. It is a cheap solution to adding voice assistant around your house though so with that said I would definitely recommend it!

The new Nest Mini solved a problem for me - how to get one into my bathroom/dressing area. I have one outlet and its right under a medicine cabinet. I hung my new one by taking its cord up along the cabinet and hanging it about 6" above. WOW!!! The music is incredible!!!! I had read that hanging it really gives you the great sound it's capable of. I listen to tons of Audible books while I'm cleaning or getting ready, and this is superb. I can ask Google to adjust volume, pause, resume, etc., and it never misses a beat. I only wish they had continued with the aqua color of the 1st-gen mini. The coral is lovely too, though.

I have been waiting for this order to get delivered last two months.

The Google Nest Mini is a lot of fun! I want one for every room. Just say, "Hey Google" and away you go. The sound is crisp and clear and the microphone picks up my voice well from anywhere in the room. It has a notch in the back to hang it from the wall. This is a nice feature, makes the sound even louder. It took a couple tries to get it to pair with my iPhone but once done it's a lot of fun. Ask about weather, it can learn your routine, play music, jokes, and keep your schedule. I really do want one for every room.

If you already have a Google home mini, there's not much of a difference. The sound is slightly better on the Nest mini versus the home mini, and it weighs less. The only good thing I will say, is that it responds MUCH faster. Rather than ask a question and then get a 2, 4 second delay like the home mini, the Nest mini responds almost instantly. It's also slightly faster when controlling my lights. However, one of the big things I was looking forward to was the extra microphone. I generally have to speak loudly when I want to get the assistants to hear me (I have 4), but with the Nest mini, it seems no different. I sat on the sofa with the Nest mini about 2 feet away and I ultimately had to yell "hey Google!" in order for it to hear me. Overall, the only thing I'm impressed with the speed of the assistant and that's it. Everything else is whatever. The speaker is only a little better, the microphone still has issues, and I guess now you can mount it. If you have money to burn I guess upgrade. As for me, I'll probably return mine tomorrow.

If you have the old Google Home Mini, there is absolutely little to no reason to upgrade. If you're looking to get into a smarter home, pick this one up since there is no reason to buy the older version when they are both retailing for similar prices. In terms of upgrade, I find that the speaker for the Nest Mini is a bit better. Don't expect booming basses, but the speaker does seem to be better than Google Home Mini's speaker. It also has a better microphone and you can hang it on the wall now.

Great product, very satisfied with it. Sounds loud and clear. Sometimes Google doesn't understand what you're saying, but I don't think is the hardware, its more of the assistant.
