    I don't know what Im supposed to do with this thing. All I asked it to do is play Christmas music for an hour and I get some David Bowie crap. I'm sure as hell not going to give it access to my house. I open google home, yep, Bowie. Can I switch to Christmas classics? No...close. try again - hey google play Christmas classics for an hour... More Bowie. What a waste. The "handshake" is loud enough to wake up the whole house. Finding volume control through my phone is an adventure. Just a frustrating experience. I WANT to like it but geez. Hope this things good at mining my data as "personal assistant" it is not.

    BestBuy procrastinate until warrant expire

    It never worked and kept disconnecting from wifi since I bought it. BestBuy said they could help me fixed the problem. I trusted so I didn't return. I tried everything BestBuy told me to do. Nothing worked. Someday suddenly, BestBuy said the warranty expired and they couldn't help. As of today, I still don't get an answer

    Got Dumb w/ Age

    Ordered this speaker to pair with my smart home's Nest ecosystem. Boy was that a mistake! Over time it has become increasingly "dumb". The assistant is so bad at executing commands that we only use this as a bluetooth speaker. Simple commands like "what time does ... close?" is always met with a "A glitch occured, please try again" or "Something went wrong, please try again" response. It happens 70% of the time and and this point we just don't bother using it. We've unplugged the device, cleaned it, reset the assistant voice features. No fix. Another issue I have is with casting spotify music to this speaker. I can't tell you how many times it fails to connect or some strange glitch occurs where Spotify becomes desynced with the device. It's just always a headache dealing with this speaker. Unfortunately, this is another product from Google that has damaged my perception of their quality. From their Pixels to their smart hub, to the smart speakers, it all seems to fail or get worse over time. So disappointed.

      Adjusting your Nest Mini's mic sensitivity and retraining it to better recognize your voice can be helpful with the issue. Check out the steps below:
      Retrain Voice Match:
      - On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
      - At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
      - Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.

      We also recommend changing your Nest Mini's hotword sensitivity:
      - Open your Google Home app.
      - Select your Nest Mini.
      - At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon.
      - Then tap Audio.
      - Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest Mini more responsive to the hotword.

    Literally garbage. Never worked. No support.

    Absolute garbage (literally went in the trash). Every 24 hours it would reset and forget all the settings, prompting me to go through the entire setup process. A YEAR (yes an entire YEAR) of repeated emails to google support took me in endless loop, going between different support people instructing me to reset the device and redo the onboarding again and again and again... Kind of funny considering the problem is it keeps resetting. The support people do not listen or read your complain, they just keep reiterating the same scripted reply, probably not even human... eventually I said: "Thank you, I will never in my life purchase another google product again". So hope it works because Google has zero tech support. In fact, worse than zero. Zero would be not providing tech support. What they do is waste your valuable time on NOT providing support.

    If you are planning to play your own downloaded music on this device, like in saying "hey google, play this song I bought that I uploaded to YouTube Music", then don't buy this. Google has made YouTubeMusic their default player, and closed Google Play Music. When they did that, they took away the ability to play your own songs using voice commands. You now have to buy a premium subscription to do so. That's right, you paid for the music, and you paid for the devices, and now you have to pay for the right to play your music on your devices. Ridiculous.

    Don't buy if you want to listen to your own music

    If you are planning to play your own downloaded music on this device, like in saying "hey google, play this song I bought that I uploaded to YouTube Music", then don't buy this. Google has made YouTubeMusic their default player, and closed Google Play Music. When they did that, they took away the ability to play your own songs using voice commands. You now have to buy a premium subscription to do so. That's right, you paid for the music, and you paid for the devices, and now you have to pay for the right to play your music on your devices. Ridiculous.

    I got 2. They both have connection problems. I also had the previous generation Home mini, and it works completely fine. The new ones disconnect EVERY DAY. It's been like this for a WHOLE year. Nothing but torture. I have tried everything. EVERYTHING. It is a problem with both units. I've contacted Google, they didn't help at all. Save your money. Don't touch these. They don't help you, they introduce more problems into your life. Just don't.

    This is absolutely one of the worst products I have ever purchased. Do NOT buy this. I bought 2 of the 2nd gen minis in hopes that you can connect them as a speaker group (similar to sonos). They DO NOT WORK. They need to be reset daily, multiple times a day, especially if you are using spotify. I reached out to google support. They walked me through a 2 hour tutorial on the "tricks" to get this setup and working. NOTHING worked. It is an ongoing issue that the mini's will not STAY connected to wifi. Therefore you have to reset them over and over again. The second you connect more than one mini - it blows everything up again and you have to reset. It works together as a speaker group 2-3% of the time. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE product. So frustrating. After being on with tech support for 2 hours, they said they had to elevate it to Tier 2 tech support and someone would reach out. PLEASE do not buy this product. They have so many bugs to fix before it actually operates. Maybe one google mini may work...occasionally, but the second you try to "connect" two...expect nothing but problems. If best buy stores were actually open, I would return IMMEDIATELY. I repeat - DO NOT BUY more than one of these. WASTE OF MONEY!

    Very Unreliable, It constantly drops connectivity

    I got my Nest Mini free as a part of a promo Google had going for users of Google Fi, and it shipped from BestBuy, so that's why I'm leaving this review here. The Google Nest Mini has issues with connectivity. When streaming music via Google Chrome from a computer, it frequently becomes choppy and annoying to listen to. This is on a really strong home WiFi, so I cannot recommend it for streaming from a computer. When listening to Spotify and trying to connect from my Google Pixel 3a (which is another device I have a lot of issues with), it likes to become unresponsive. I can select the speaker through the Spotify app, and the text will turn green and say it's connecting, but it never connects. It'll either fail and turn white again, or the speaker becomes unresponsive to streaming, and it has to be unplugged and plugged back in. Overall, I'm not very happy with this product, and it's showing the poor quality Google is taking on with their products. Between this and my Pixel 3A, I'm about to go insane and switch completely to the Apple ecosystem. If anyone is looking to set up a smart home set, I'd suggest considering Apple or Amazon's Alexa first.

    It's pretty stupid, when it works it's great. Doesn't seem to be very smart 50% of the time. Mis understanding. Or turning off and on the wrong things. Sometimes it doesn't hear me at all other times it's way over sensitive. It's pretty garbage honestly.

    If you want this because you want to listen to your favorite songs, buy something else. The Google speakers will often play a strange version of your favorite song and you can't fix it. On a forum, this happened with many different songs, artists, services, methods. google help is no help.

    i got a google nest to use in my room to control my hue lights. and i tried serval times ro set it up and it would say unable to connect to network. when or network os running. so im going to return it asap. what a waste of time and money..
