When I was buying the new Google wireless doorbell, the local Best Buy store associate recommended to add Nest Mini to hear the doorbell sounds. The Nest Mini ( 2nd gen) is powered by Google assistant, and it exceeded all of my expectations - the ability to select music services, check the weather, control Smart Home devices, so I ended buying a 2nd nest mini. Highly recommend.

Much like my Amazon "Alexa" unit it works fine. I am a slow starter in the mornings so I say "Hay Google, give me the news" so I can lay there and moan and groan while I get the CNN headlines. Then I say "hay Google, what is the local weather?" Too bad it can't go to the bathroom for me because that is what gets me out of bed. I do not care about music fidelity on this unit but if you do you may want to buy the larger version.

The Nest Mini (there were two--one chalk and one charcoal that I purchased and that are reflected in this review) is a very powerful and responsive speaker in the Google Home system. I had two already and needed to just expand the Google presence in my home--especially for music. Personally, I find their audio quality quite amazing for their size, Speaking of size, that is the other feature that prompted my most recent purchase. They are easy to hide in a room environment, and they are nicely portable. One of the two I have designated as "Portable" and move it to where I am working on projects where, fortunately, my WiFi reaches. Once unplugged and then plugged back in, it takes about a minute to find itself and ready to work.

Over all good item. I don’t rely on the speaker by itself but more as a way to get my google assistant in all areas of my home. I have it set up wit by my nest hub displays.

This is indispensable. I control indoor and outdoor lights with my voice. I can play music. It will "Google" questions and provide time and weather information. A splendid device. I can't imagine living without it.
