For example, I said "Hey, Google, turn on the lights" and it replied "This is what a cat sounds like...Meow" (I'm not kidding)

Wish it was easier to have it recognize everyone in the family but I don’t see a way to do that without giving kids more access than I’d like just so they could have voice recognition

Different devices respond than the one you talk to, scheduled announcements play or not, Google help don’t seem to know why. They play music okay?

If multiple devices are responding to your commands, we recommend checking if you have an updated Google app version. Also, make sure that all of your devices are connected on the same account, and on the same Wi-Fi network.
Resetting your Nest Mini may be helpful to refresh the system. This will erase all data and you may need to set it up again. To reset, switch the mic off located on the side of your device. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.
