Easy to install app and set up. Rarely have used the touch commands because the voice command "hey google... play (whatever name station you prefer) station on Pandora" with "increase volume XX%" or "decrease volume XX%" being the most used commands. Have even used "hey google, what time is it" or "hey google, tell me a joke" being useful. Great purchase!

I am told the speaker is a bit different and it has a different proprietary power cable (not so happy about that) but I am unable to tell the difference too much. I mostly use my Sonos One for listening to music and the Nest Mini is mostly a backup device. Setup is really easy through the Google Home app and alltogether I was happy to receive this for free. I am not sure I would pay $50 which is the advertized price for this item and I think $20-30 would be more appropriate.

Also the google home app is much easier to use than the apple home app

Don't have any additional devices (thermostat, remote switches, etc.) but plan to get some. For now it's nice to have a voice-activated reference point for information, weather, traffic, music, and timer, etc. And it works great, I had some trouble connecting it in a second house, but did the reset thing and it worked fine. Looking forward to further exploration of its capabilities. Especially like the male voice option, something that Amazon's Echo (Alexa) does not have.

Can easily be placed in settle locations where it is out of sight behavior. Usable. Microphone is ridiculously good at picking you up across long distances without the need to increase your voice volume. This is only a four-star review because they never resolved the touch to pause issue from the very first generation. You have touch volume controls but not longer a center pause touch button. There are also some nice aftermarket battery based that can allow this to run for 4 hours. Eg. Take it outside to the patio.

However, we're sorry to hear about your concern with the touch to pause feature. This feature is actually fully supported on Nest Mini. Other than the volume controls located on the top left and right hand side of the speaker, you can play and pause it by touching the top center of the device.
