I generally love “Google Assistant”, but the Mic on this one is so bad, it can hardly pick my voice right most of the time, frequently Assistants that I have in other room will pick up first my commands than this that is on the room I am. The sound is decent for the size, it is just the mic that is terrible. I sometimes wonder if I got a defective one.

The mic issue is most likely related to the level of sensitivity with how the Google Assistant recognizes your hotword. We recommend adjusting the sensitivity level, including retraining the Google Assistant with your voice commands using the Voice Match feature. Here are the steps you can follow:
Retrain Voice Match:
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
- Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.
Change Nest Mini's hotword sensitivity:
- Open your Google Home app.
- Select your Nest Mini.
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon.
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest MIni more responsive to the hotword.

Compared to the Home Mini that it replaces, it has improved controls including a play/pause button on top (like the Home mini was supposed to have) and lights for the side volume buttons. The audio quality is slightly better overall, and fine for a secondary room or occasional music, but the Nest Audio would be a better choice for frequent music playback. Still, it's an excellent choice if you prefer Google over Alexa.

It’s good I guess from the original price. Easy to install and easy to use but it scares me sometimes that talking by itself even I don’t ask anything

The sound quality is loud and clear. The plus side is that it has Google Assistant. I will buy this product again. I recommend the Nest Mini to all who loves a quality product at a great price.
