Foot two bedroom apartment and couldn't get service in my bedroom from the living room. After doing a bunch of research, I decided to jump into the Nest Wifi, and am super happy with it! The wi-fi speeds are faster, and, more importantly, consistent. Definitely do your research to make sure your internet works with it, but if it does, I definitely recommend!

Google Assistant might activate when you don't say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google” when it detects something that sounds similar. Also, Google Assistant might not activate when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment. You can control how often Google Assistant responds to voice commands with the “Hey Google” sensitivity setting. This setting lets you choose how sensitive devices are to phrases that sound like “Hey Google” or “Ok Google.”
- Open your Google Home app
- Select your Nest Wifi
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap""Hey Google"" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest Wifi more responsive to the hotword.
Retraining your Nest Wifi with the Voice Match may also help, especially if you have other family members sharing your Nest Wifi. You can try these outlined steps:
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile phone or tablet.
- At the top right, tap your account.
- Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
- Tap Assistant settings > Voice match > Add devices.
- Make sure any devices you want to link your voice to are checked.
- Tap Next, I agree.
- Follow the in-app steps.
- To get your personal information, you must turn on Personal results.
- Tap I agree and proceed with the Voice match setup.
- To invite others to set up a Voice Match for tailored results, tap Invite, choose your communication method, and send the invite. To skip this step, tap No, thanks.

Pretty solid system!

The satellite on the Orbi would keep disconnecting, a problem we don't seem to be having with the Google mesh system (thank goodness!!). The setup is easy, the user interface is also very good. The access points acting as voice assistants as well is handy, but for us it was a little much (we have other Google units throughout the house, so we had to mute the mic on one of the access points so we didn't have multiple assistants answering!). This is a good solid system, so far. We are hoping it stays as stable and true as it has been so far!
