Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well what can I say about the google mesh router… I guess I went in thinking it would be so much faster than my 10 year old linksys router, but in reality it’s runs the same speed. It was easier to set up because it’s all done through a google home app, Which is nice. However they do get kicked offline if you have a furnished basement with any kind of cement around it. So it doesn’t travel through the floor very well. Overall it’s just OK. It works, but it’s a bit expensive for the same speed and result as a 10 year old linksys router.

Nest Wifi Router is capable of 400 Mbps @ 2.4GHz and 1733 Mbps at @ 5GHz while Nest Wifi Points can reach 400 Mbps @2.4GHz and 866 Mbps @5GHz speeds. These Wi-Fi speeds will still depend on other factors like interference, multiple devices using both bandwidths on your router and the older Wi-Fi chips on your devices that might not be able to support these speeds.
You can also try these simple steps that may help:
- Move the connected device closer to your Wi-Fi router or point.
- Make sure all unused devices are off and not draining bandwidth with large downloads.
- Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators or other equipment.
- Try to move your router or point to a more open or unobstructed location and your router or points closer to each other.
- Restart your network.
- Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to confirm your service is working properly.

The delivered wifi speed with google nest is around 100 Mbps. Pros - Consistent speed throughout all floors and rooms. Cons - The speed does not go beyond 100 Mbps. Contrary to advertisement, it’s not easy (impossible) to control the wifi connection for each device by using google assistant service. Something, you would think is possible. Multiple apps for google nest services makes it confusing. Wish google can make it all available in google home app. At the price point, delivered wifi speed and flexibility to control devices, there are others in the market that boasts better services.

The app allows great control over devices. Unsure of coverage as currently still having issues in parts of my home, but will be trying to move the access point.

We could be looking at a possible connectivity issue that affects the overall performance of your Nest Wifi. You may need to restart your modem, even if your modem appears to be working fine, to establish a secure connection to the Wi-Fi point. Wi-Fi signal and connectivity will still depend on other factors like interference, multiple devices using both bandwidths on your router and the older Wi-Fi chips on your devices that might not be able to support these speeds. If you're using a modem/router combo, set it in bridge mode and disable its Wi-Fi functionality to avoid double NAT issues.

It’s as close to plug & play as you can get. I don’t advise this product for those that like to tweak obscure settings.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave these a shot because my current router/firewall/WAP is getting long in the tooth, doesnt cover a couple of spots very well and doesnt support WPA3. The devices were cumbersome to set up through the Google Home app and the configuration options are limited. Coverage was good and the mesh works well. What didnt work, however, was the PPPOE WAN configuration with CenturyLink fiber as it doesnt support vLAN tagging, so you have to double NAT which creates an administrative burden and doesnt allow ditching the old router.

And we are able to suspend kids' devices at night. Great product and highly recommend!
