We had a problematic ranch style home where one side was perpetually hard to have internet in. There was a transversing mirror in a long bowling alley style bathroom. Many experts said this mirror actually reflected back WiFi snd was probably the problem. The mesh solved with ease. We placed at the end of a hall in linen closet and Now the entire end of the house is rocking. It’s nice to have the app to check on them too. Very plug play and go.

Like other mesh systems, the Nest Wifi is not a modem, so it needs to be plugged into the modem you already have to work. This arrangement was sufficient to provide strong Wi-Fi in every part of my home and gave me enough bandwidth to stream 4K video wherever I had a signal. It also handily managed the 50-plus devices that are connected to my Wi-Fi network at any given time and didn’t have any trouble “hopping” devices from the router to the Point when I moved about my home. The Nest Wifi consistently provided faster speeds to my devices that were connected to the primary router and not the Point. But where the Point lacks in Wi-Fi capabilities, it makes up for by the fact that pulls double duty as a voice-activated smart speaker. Essentially, it’s a Nest Mini speaker mashed into an original Google Wifi puck. It sounds very similar to the Nest Mini, which isn’t a bad thing, and there’s a glowing ring at its base that illuminates white when you speak to it and orange when the mic is muted. It even has the same touch controls as the Nest Mini for adjusting the volume or pausing playback. Google intends the Point to be placed out in the open, which provides the best wireless and smart speaker performance, so it designed it to look nicer than the typical router. It also comes in three colors — white, pale blue, or pale pink — while the main router is only available in white. The Point supports all of the same voice controls for the Google Assistant as the Nest Mini, but it also adds a couple of router-specific voice commands, such as running speed tests or pausing connections to groups of devices managed in the Google Home app. If you have a Nest Hub or Hub Max, you can also run speed tests from there or display the credentials to a guest network.

purchasing a "Nest WiFi Mesh" system

I have been having trouble with my FiOS wireless router's weak signal now that my granddaughter is attending school remotely 3 days a week. I tried everything I could to increase the signal by using a larger antenna and moving the router but that really didn't help. I went to Best Buy to purchase a "repeater OR booster" device but realized thru my own experiences as an IT System Engineer that these devices would have just pulled the signal to that booster and it would have affected the Wi-Fi in the rest of the house. I knew my next step would be to buy a "nest Wi-Fi mesh" system which can be very expensive. I talked to a tech specialist and we discussed all my options and he advised me to purchase the Google AC2200 system which was NOT the most expensive system in the store. It had the quality I wanted, the number of devices that were perfect for my house and it could be expanded easily if I needed to add more devices. I was able to install the system in about 20 minutes and my whole house now has excellent Wi-Fi signal no matter where you are in the house OR outside in the yard. My granddaughter's school given CHROMEBOOK laptop now works perfectly as it should and my granddaughter is getting her work done with ease and no interruptions or loss of signal. My daughter has bought a subscription with Google we play allot of music now thru the "Nest". My granddaughter now uses the "Nest" speakers to talk to her friends and listen to her teacher online due to the excellent quality of the Google speakers !! Thank You Best Buy for looking out for the customers needs rather then the money you make selling your products. This is what keeps me coming back time and time again.

This mesh system is good and not great, mainly not great because it seems plagued with randomly disconnecting satellites or signal strength dropping for no apparent reason. Contacting Google doesn’t even seem to get you a solution or explanation. The majority of the time it works as intended and does everything it’s supposed to but it’s really annoying when it doesn’t want to and you need to stop what your doing to restart your entire network to get it working like it should again.

Very impressed so far with the Nest Wifi. As others bored, quick and easy setup although it was a little annoying having to re-add my old google devices to the new network once set up. Saw an increase of about 300 Mbps over my old router. Great investment!

I have a bunch of Amazon devices so when it came time for a mesh network I tried eero. It was terrible. The points kept losing connection and I had to keep restarting the main hub. After a week of trouble I returned it and got this Google set-up. Even with one less point, this package is a beast. Set-up was easy and I get great coverage throughout my whole 2,000 sq. foot home. I love the app and the ability to group devices, pause internet access and prioritize devices.

Improved wifi throughout the house. No deadspots and even get a good signal outside the house in the yard. Had issues streaming multiple devices and this is no longer a problem. I can stream multiple devices at one time with little to no buffering. I have since added an additional access point just to be on the safe side. Overall it improved range and streaming which is what I was looking for. Highly recommend if you're having wifi connectivity issues.

I cannot overstate the value of this!! It is a game changer for internet bandwidth expansion. We live in a two story townhouse, and always had problems with signal strength and coverage. Since buying this, we have had NO problems at all. Ideal if you live I. A large house with multiple devices that rely on a steady internet signal. And if you are a Cablevision customer, toss their router in the trash and buy this onex

This Nest WiFi mesh is easy to configure and works as advertised. Plus is keenly integrates with existing Nest thermostats, Nest cameras and the Google Nest mini. We now are able to capitalize on the high speed FiOS internet service throughout all areas of our house, garage and patio. I have already recommended the Google Nest WiFi to several friends who have also installed the product and are similarly pleased.

This mesh system covers our entire 3 story house and our full yard. I debated between this system or the Amazon system. Ended up going with Google. It works great and can handle numerous devices at once. Huge upgrade over the NetGear range extenders I had before. Signal is consistent throughout the whole house and I don’t have to manually connect to a new range extender when entering different areas of the house/yes as I did before.

The google neat router is the best investment this year. My internet works better and stronger and also it comes with a google home device. Now all my TVs , Phillips and devices are linked with the use of the google home app . Setting up your devices to connect to your google router made it easy and now I’m using voice requests to play music on my tv or Turing my lights on! It’s awesome

Super easy set up and having the second mesh unit as a “hey, google” device is awesome! I have a three floor condo totaling about 1,700sqft. The main router unit is on the middle floor and has enough power to get stable, 5Ghz band wifi to every room! I almost didn’t set up the mesh unit since I was getting ISP rated speed everywhere. Highly recommended - especially for larger homes and if your main internet source isn’t centralized.

Still early but loving it. My 5-year old router (Linksys) just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Multiple dead spots and dropped connections. Not an option in the days of working from home, Zoom calls, etc. during a pandemic. Incredibly easy to set up. WIFI network was up and running within 15 minutes of opening the box. Strong signal everywhere in the house. Family likes the network point that doubles as a Google Assistant.

Came from a netgear wifi 6 router that was a little more expensive and I would pick this. Speed seems about equal, range is with 2 units substantially better, and on the interface I would pick this. the netgear is a little better for advanced options and I like a full browser interface, but I would say the family options with filtering, pause etc more than make up for it. 1 thing to note is you only get 1 lan port but a switch is easy to add.
