I bought this pair for my mother's new 2 story townhome. I had installed one previously at my own house and was wowed by the results. I should preface this by stating this review is for those who are still holding on to their reliable Apple Airport Extreme as that was what we have been using for the past 5 years but the model itself has been out since 2013. I was sort of hoping Apple would at least update to WPA 3 but it doesn't seem likely at this point.
After installing both units inside her home, I tested a few areas and farther areas were at least doubled and range was extended out to driveway from the point as I put it next to a window to help push out the signal farther. So that was all good.
After I left, my mother could not print from one of her printers and she would need to print something early morning. So I drove back to figure out the problem, as it was a printer connected by LAN to a switch to the router. Luckily it turned out to be a simple setting, IPv6 was disabled by default. Soon as I popped it on the printer quickly showed up. Not sure why Google does that but keep that in mind if a printer isn't working.
Most of the Macs are blazing fast on WiFi and one Windows PC for WFH and enjoys high speeds via Ethernet switch connected to the Nest. For those complaining about the single port, a ethernet switch is a cheap solution and you can buy the number of ports you will need.
The Home app used to house all the router settings is a little convoluted and while it does offer more features than Apple gave us, I wish the settings were a tiny bit more feature rich, such as the option to keep guest on WPA 2 for compatibility purposes. By enabling the WPA 3 has caused some issues on my HP printer but it is an old printer and I will simply find a work around for it as I do value the higher security protocol and is part of the reason I purchased this router.
Those are really the only gripes I have with the router but speeds have doubled, I can keep a closer eye on my network, and better WiFi security. However should Apple return to the router game, I am all in! Until then, let's go team Google!

I bought this set to replace one existing Netgear Wifi. I will say that setup is easy - but only once you get used to the Google Home app. It is so basic that sometimes can be confusing as to what you are trying to do with regard to setup or functionality. But overall it is very easy to setup and performance seems very good. Coverage is good. Having both the router and point allow me to cover a hard to reach bedroom. Also, one nice benefit has been that our Google Mini's seem to perform better. Prior to Google Nest Wifi, the minis would stop playing music or such.

When I was looking to upgrade my internet I came across Google WiFi and saw that it had been out for awhile. I decided to wait and see if Google would come out with new hardware and I’m pleased that I did. The Google Nest WiFi fits our households needs well. I could have gone with the 2 pack version seeing as the 3 pack might be a little overkill but I’m very happy nonetheless. Coverage is great. I was worried about speeds due to some of the reviews and with all the devices that are in my home. Once everything was setup those worries were gone. Great speeds and very easy to setup!

This made a night and day difference in terms of speed, performance and mainly overall experience with our home wifi. We had our router in the basement and the devices on other side of the house one second floor bedroom would act up intermittently. Just a 2 pack router and access point did the trick. Totally recommneded. Awesome product!
If I had to pick on something (constructively ofcourse) An Ethernet port on the access point would have been a great addition. Something to think about Google for the next edition. Orbi has it. You could too. :-)

I got this as I originally had a Netgear Triband Router upstairs in combo with a TP Link RE450 extender downstairs to improve the signal to my TV on the other side of the house. While I had decent wifi coverage through the house with that combo, I was occasionally having streaming issues with the TV. I heard that mesh systems were better designed for such problems. After reading various reviews of different systems, I opted for this one as it tended to have the best reviews given my situation.
This router/mesh system was super easy to set up. However, Google Home doesn't help you much with placement of the Wifi points. I had to use NetSpot on my phone to measure signal strength at different points in the house. You'll want to make sure that the points aren't too far from the router, otherwise you won't have a good enough connection between the router and the points. You'll want to have your router somewhat centrally located in your house if you can. Unfortunately I can't do that in my house, so I had the router upstairs in my office on one end of the house, one point almost directly beneath in the kitchen (and with a clean line of sight to the family room/TV), and then one point in a corner of the master bedroom. It can take some time and experimentation to find the optimal points for your situation, even though setup itself of the system is fairly quick.
With the new system, I was getting a better signal and speed at the TV. However, connection strength was still a bit spotty despite no obstacles in the way of the Wifi point. The TV would often connect to the 5 GHz signal, which tends to die off rapidly with distance. Sometimes the Google Home app would tell me that the connection between the TV and the Wifi point was only OK or even weak. I eventually opted to set up a MOCA adapter on my cable outlet instead (see my review of the ActionTec MOCA 2.5 Network Adapter at Best Buy).
I'm still keeping the mesh system even though it didn't 100% solve my TV problem, as I like having the built in Google assistant, and the 3-pack does provide better coverage of my 2200 sq ft house than my old system did.
If you get this, you'll most likely like it, but don't expect magic. The Wifi point signals are weaker than the router (the router provides up to 2200 sq ft of coverage, while the points only do 1600, and real world performance is going to be significantly less than these).
Overall happy with it but nothing amazing.

The Google Mesh wifi is literally the best wifi system I've ever used. Consistently pulling 1 Gig, which is my purchased speed, setup takes minutes literally, and the devices cover my whole house (2 levels), my whole garage, and most of my yard. I am currently up to 5 pucks and wanting to add more for more yard coverage. The seamless experience is the best part. Boosters of old required multiple network logins and to hop around. I also love that they act as a whole-home sound system too!

Thanks to this Google Mesh system, there are no dead spots anywhere in my home, back and front yard! My speeds are lighting fast compared to my old Fios router...and no more rental fees! Great way to cut the cord...I am now streaming Sling TV and Amazon Prime with zero buffering issues. And, saving money every month (well, once this pays for itself in about 6 months). Easy set up, the mesh points look great and match our modern decor without being obnoxious...and like all nest products, they play music, and the like....highly recommended!

The Google Nest Wifi mesh system has been a great improvement over my old Nighthawk router. Not only is the speed faster in the immediate area of the router but the signal strength is greater throughout my property thanks to the wifi points. Setup was extremely simple. No it does not have Wifi6 but I don't own any devices that support Wifi6 yet so it's a non-issue for now. I'd highly recommend these to any below-average, average or slightly-above average tech user. Maybe steer clear if you're a super-user that has high-functioning network requirements.

I purchased this wifi mesh setup for my house to ensure that we have good wifi coverage on all 3 levels of our house. Previously there were some dead zone areas that the wifi just wouldn't work. This setup has corrected that issue and it actually reaches all the way out to a barn that is roughly 70 feet away from the house. This has good coverage and speed for all of our connected devices. The only issue that I have is that it only has one ethernet port on the router itself. So, there are limitations there that require additional hardware.

These were probably the easiest setup process ever. Instructions were simple and signal was very reliable. This was good to cover the dead spots in my house and also doubled as a google assistant with speaker. Controls were simple and love the priority service feature so I can make work or gaming a priority in a house filled with people streaming and gaming. Only compliant is that I wish there was more option for colors and that the access points did not come with a network port. A little pricey compare to other tri-band or WIFI 6 mesh network but I like google products for its ease of use and accessibility.

This product was easy to install and setup. I used the Google Home app for all configurations. I was able to se DHCP rules and custom DNS server address right from the app. There is a more mature Google WIFi app to try if you need. The coverage in my apartment is fantastic. The 5Ghz WiFi is finally useable as I have great signal strength everywhere. My devices transition seamlessly between pucks. Microsoft teams conference calls stay connected when I move around my apartment and my device switches to another puck.

The Google-Nest WiFi mesh system was easy to install and a step up in range and performance over our previous router and range extenders. It improved WiFi reception at our detached garage/gust building from fair to very good. Another plus is the functionality of Google Home and Google WiFi apps when applied to the router and access points. Liked the system enough to buy a third access point. The only downside of the system is that it is difficult to assign a device specifically to the 2.4 vs the 5.0 band Still looking for work-arounds to accomplish that.

For the past few years we've been AT&T Fiber subscribers and used AT&T's bundled modem/router. It seemed to work okay, but WiFi was always flaky at the opposite end of the house and the speeds never quite matched up with what we were paying for. I know WiFi is typically going to be slower, but I didn't feel like it had the total throughput to satisfy all our devices - streaming boxes, PC's, etc. The network would bog down, and we had 300 Mbps service at the time.
Finally we cancelled U-verse TV (which ran through the modem/router) and upgraded to Gigabit Fiber, which opened the opportunity for us to use a separate router. Within 5 minutes of unboxing this thing, I had a perfectly usable and fast connection all over my property. Only hassle was figuring out how to disable the router of my AT&T box so the Google WiFi got the public IP - a quick Google search and I was on my way. 5 minutes total from unboxing to fast WiFi all over the home. It probably would have worked fine had I left it as a cascaded router, but do it right if you're going to do it at all.
It doesn't bog down with multiple streaming boxes or PC's going. During the current pandemic, we've got multiple TV's streaming and laptops working from home pretty much all day. Wireless printers printing. WiFi speakers streaming radio. Even 4K streaming movies on our living room TV. All wireless, no sweat.
Only downside - there's only one downlink ethernet port. For us it's no biggie, the WiFi is great but eventually if I want to add more wired devices, no big deal to hook a relatively cheap Gigabit switch to that port and add pretty much as many devices as I want.
The mesh repeater is also a Google Home smart speaker, but there's a switch on the back of it to disable that functionality which we have done. It only needs power - it meshes wirelessly with the main hub. Simple to set up, you do it on your phone in 5 minutes. If I can do it, you can do it.
You can get cheaper WiFi routers, there's no doubt about that. But if you're like me, you're okay with paying a reasonable premium for a better experience. I wouldn't spend twice this price on a router, but this unit is a good choice I think.

The Google AC2200 is absolutely the very best mesh product available today, due to its range and signal strength. It’s very easy to set up and to be installed using the Google home app, which provides guidance for optimal positioning of each device point. In addition, it is affordably priced and will provide a steady and stable WiFi network throughout your home.

Overall this mesh wifi system has been great. Wonderful coverage through the house. Good speeds. Simple and attractive design. However, only having one ethernet output (and only on the router, not the point) limits this system. I have a Hue hub that is plugged into, but now cannot add any other smart home items that require a hub plugged directly into the router (ex. Arlo cameras). If you don't have smart home items in need of hubs or any other devices like a gaming setup you want wired for speed, this works. Otherwise, they need to add additional options to wire in more devices directly.

Coverage of a 1600 square feet house:
Pretty good overall! Would recommend putting them in taller places around the house i.e. shelves. We've also discovered that one of our walls have something inside that will block signals so it did improve our network but not to the extend that we were hoping for. So test your walls folks, that may be another reason why your network is experiencing issues.

So I was having the worst service in my home with ATT wifi: Frequently disconnecting from every device, gaming was horrible (either kicked out or freezing) , buffering etc. With their self promoted 1000 mbps service (Total BS)
Enter Google nest wifi points! Easy hook up , on ethernet cable from the ATT router to the 1st google nest, then I placed the wireless one downstairs on 1st floor.
Now I'm avg 800+ mbps daily and the coverage is full in my 3k sqft home and backyard

I researched Google Nest, Amazon Eero.
I have had Orbi (1 router and 2 satellites) at my parents house. Orbi is good but size is relatively big and has a bit less coverage area wise. Also, not a big thing but doesnt play music. Eero - one of my friend has it and I too have experienced it, range is not as powerful and rarely it has shown lag in video calls despite of 1 GBPS connection.
So far (though I am not pro in reviewing tech part of wifi-mesh), I have a 2350 sqft home divided in 3 floors. I also wanted coverage in backyard and frontyard too; hence I added those many sqft to my overall area. I went to google website / store to research if I am good with 3 or 4 (router + satellite) and result was 3. I have a 1 GBPS internet speed.
So, far I havent experienced any delays / glitches in any part of the house (during regular work, calls, video calls etc) including front yard + back yard. Hence I totally recommend it.
Note - It doesnt support all 3 bands (like eero pro) but so far all my devices are on dual band, hence I dont need to spend few extra hundred dollars to get a tri band.
