The ability to unlock the door remotely is cool but the best feature is timed access that you can rescind at any time. I love it!

I originally bought the one that was more apple homekit friendly (Assure lock SL). This lock is basically identical minus the fact that it hooks into the nest eco system, and has way more features! Even if it's just software differences, the ability to have codes auto expire, and see the history of when they're used - very handy!

My life turned in to a sitcom and i needed more privacy. I had no choice but to find something I could totally control and Yale is the best. If you need to control who you let in your home and when, look no further.

It gave me an error message and I was not at the house so could not investigate it more. I will look at it better once I am back at the house, but so far it has been a great addition to the house. People have used it and I was notified of who entered the house.

Posted .Hi Dschroll14, thanks for taking the time to share your review on Nest x Yale Lock. We can see how worrying it can be when it says that your door is not locked when it was. We hear you and we’re here to help.
Without accurate calibration, the Nest app may say that your door’s locked when it’s not, or vice versa. Also, even if you installed the lock perfectly when you first got it, the door and the frame can shift over time, or they can shrink and swell in different weather conditions. This can cause just enough misalignment to prevent the lock from being able to work on its own any more. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
- Open your door.
- Slowly use the thumb turn inside your home to extend the deadbolt all the way to the locked position, then retract it back to the unlocked position.
- Close your door.
- Again, use the thumb turn to extend and retract the deadbolt.
- If it feels like the deadbolt is sticking or scraping at any point, or if it feels like the deadbolt isn’t able to fully extend when your door’s closed, you may need to make some adjustments.
