The Nest x Yale is a smart lock that integrates into the Nest family of products. As a smart lock from Nest, you would expect it to be stylish, easy to use, and with extra features. For the most part, you would be correct. First off, the Nest x Yale has a very nice and clean appearance with a lighted keypad that is not visible when not in use. Push the Yale logo and the keypad lights up, ready for input. The lock on the interior side of the door is pretty large, as it houses 4 AA batteries (included). Besides the manual locking mechanism, there is also a button that can be used to activate (or check) Privacy Mode. With Privacy Mode enabled, the touchpad is basically disabled and the only way to open the door from outside is to use the Nest app. There is an audible speaker, but it is on the outside of the door, so you won't hear prompts as easily when inside (such as activating the previously mentioned Privacy Mode). You'll need to rely on the Nest app to access most of the features, such as setting an Auto-Locking timer. Currently, you have a choice of 10 seconds, 1 minute, or 10 minutes for Auto-Lock. Also, there are no voice activation features, but supposedly that could be coming. Within the app, you also can create multiple access codes and view the Lock History. Installation was pretty straightforward; basically remove the existing deadbolt and install this one. A Nest Connect is included in the retail package, which is required if you don't have a Nest Secure. (If you do, the Nest Guard connects to the Nest x Yale directly.) Ultimately, the Nest x Yale will work best in conjunction with Nest Secure since it technically can't tell for sure by itself if a door was opened, closed, or left open, where a Nest Detect can. But in conjunction with a Nest Detect, you can automatically lock or unlock a closed door.

Now if the batteries in the hidden cameras my FBI agent placed get low, he can just hack the lock instead of "picking it old school" Please don't delete me and my dad joke...

Very happy with this lock! Works well with google home and nest environment. Setup was a breeze and there have been no connectivity issues.

I wanted to add an electronic dead bolt. I have google/nest products already installed so this was a no brainer for me. It works as inteded and having the auto lock when my location is away feom home is greaf. Also being able to check at any time wether the door is locked or not is nice.

Great lock ! If you have a new build sometimes the bolt may be to long and require you to drill that area bigger then a standard lock size

Installation was a bit rocky. Had to move the router closer even with a mesh system. After that it works great

I am extremely happy with the purchase of this product. Installation was quick and simple. Setup to connect the "Nest x Yale" smart lock was user friendly. Works well with existing Google Nest & Home products.

Good system especially when your away from home. AND need to let someone in without a code .... highly recommend why not 5 stars cause for some odd reason the wifi eye stop operating ...

The lock seems solid in construction and software is on point. Installation for me was more of a pain due to different deadbolt hole sizing, but other than that went well.

Works very well within the Google smarthome ecosystem. It was a bit fidgety to install but i also have an oldish door frame

We replaced our Vivint with this. It was a great switch from a product that has given us so many issues.

It’s amazing to come home and not have to worry about finding the right key. Or in my case if I have the right set of keys. The app is super easy to use and it works with google appliances.

This is a great update to the last one I had. The on line connection is much better than prior versions.

I love that the fact I can open and close the lock from anywhere. When I ordered things that I don’t want left on my front porch, I simply unlock the door from work and have my neighbor put it in my house.

If this smart lock you'll never be locked out again. I just hope that Google provides an update so that you can lock and unlock the door from smart assistant devices

Great lock, cool features, the installation is a bit convoluted, and if the lock isn’t set just right in the hole it will continuously jam and error so you have to restart the entire process over after reset.

Connects to WiFi Through an adapter that is included already . Plugs in close by to the lock between the Wi-Fi router and the lock . Works with Nest app so my thermostats licks and cameras all on one app.
