Several different problems with this lock door. Frequent disconnection between door locks and Nest Connect which makes Wi-Fi function. Worst problem is that door lock opens automatically even after checking it before sleeping. I just pulled out batteries to prevent the malfunction. I tried more than 20times to do factory reset but give up. Too stressful

Resetting your Nest x Yale Locks was a great idea to isolate the issue. But the issue may be related to other factors, other than the Nest x Yale Lock themselves. Nest x Yale Locks don't connect to your Wi-Fi network directly as it needs to connect to the Nest Connect first which comes with your lock. Your Nest Connect acts as a border router to your Wi-Fi network. You need to make sure your border router is within range (within 50ft direct line of sight) of the Nest x Yale Lock and Wi-Fi router. This range could be shorter if there are potential sources of interference, either physical interference (thickness and type of walls, mirrors, windows, etc.) and competing signals (other wireless devices, baby monitors, microwaves, etc.). You might want to restart the devices (Nest x Yale Lock, border router, Wi-Fi router) and move them closer if you need to establish a stable connection.

You also must set the delay to at least 15 seconds in order for that feature to kind of work. I returned it and bought a Schlage.

I replaced the lock and the same thing happened. They replaced that lock and it continued to use batteries up in 3-4 days. It would cycle locking and unlocking at odd hours of the night and day as shown by the history. I have spent hours on the phone with the help desk. I finally just got rid of it and replace it with another brand (Kwikset-actually easier battery set up) and have had no problems since then. The setup was a breeze, it looks good, but just consumed batteries like crazy.

Just a quick reminder when it quits working. There is no other way to make entry. Get something with a key slot as well. 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

I thought this would take care of the problem. I used this thing and played around with it for a week or so. Unless your door is exactly in the right position it will not work good. I had even unlocked it and left the door in the exact position (meaning did not move or open it) and after about 4 or 5 times then it would finally close. I did all the alignments and everything. I even made a bigger lock hole in the wall and still ran into the same issues. I could manually do it just fine with no issues. But to do that then there was no point in paying over 300 for a pain in the butt lock. If you want a lock so you don't have to use any keys. I recommend you use the old fashion way where you press in the code. There are even ones that have a digital screen for you to use.

While doing so, lock announces: CAN'T LOCK DOOR", but, the door is locked. Must remove and exchange. Hopefully I'll have a much better experience with the exchange. The look is gorgeous and I would recommend once it's working properly
