Posted .Hi there, DustinF. While it’s important to make sure your Nest x Yale Lock is charged, you can still get into your home if the battery is drained. The Nest app will notify you when the lock's batteries are low so you can replace them. If needed, you can temporarily charge the lock with a 9 Volt battery to use the keypad. A few weeks ago I was completely locked out of my house and had to pay a lock smith the break into my back door because of malfunctions with this lock. Now, I keep manually locking the door and it unlocks itself. Both of these situations are a safety and security hazard. How is this okay.

The battery constantly doesn't work from the time that I bought this stupid machine. Someone from the company had came by to supposedly put a new battery. A few weeks later, it happens again. I hate I ever bought it

The batteries were discharge every 3 days after 2.5 months of usage. I been trying to get a hold of yale through the nest customer suppor and never heard from them in the past 3 weeks

Worst lock!

Sometimes the lock refuses to open ! And since there is no key family members get locked out! This lock is useless I’ve never been able to use the app or match to my phone as Best Buy promised I even used geek squad for installation to make sure it was installed correctly and NO LUCK!

The first step is to make sure that your border router (Nest Connect) is within range (~50ft direct line of sight) of the Nest x Yale Lock and Wi-Fi router. This range could be shorter if there are potential sources of interference, either physical interference (thickness and type of walls, mirrors, windows, etc.) and competing signals (other wireless devices, baby monitors, microwaves, etc.). If Nest Connect is too far away from your lock, your lock will be offline in the app but Nest Connect will be online. If Nest Connect is too far away from your Wi-Fi router, both Nest Connect and your lock will be offline in the app. If your Nest Connect is offline, learn how to troubleshoot Nest Connect here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9235363
