I can't believe Google and Yale couldn't get it straight. The lock comes with a google connect device which allows the connection from the lock to the nest app in your phone. I believe they wanted make it this way to have a lock which is secure and not hackable. Unfortunately, you will have the lock coming offline pretty often. If you have an internet outage, you will have to start all from scratch which means taking the lock off the door and starting the pairing process again. I hope there's an update to solve this soon. Go look it up, this is a trending forum topic and happens a lot. For a Google and expensive device, I really expected better.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear you've been having connectivity issues with Nest x Yale Lock.
Nest x Yale Lock can't connect to your Wi-Fi directly, hence relies on Google Nest Connect to establish connection with your network and the Nest app. The intermittent disconnections may be caused by distance between the lock, your Wi-Fi router, and Google Nest Connect as well as some form of network interference.
Please make sure that your Nest Connect is within range (~50ft direct line of sight) of the Nest x Yale Lock and Wi-Fi router. This range could be shorter if there are potential sources of interference such as thick walls, mirrors, windows, competing signals from other wireless devices, microwave, etc. We suggest observing the distance needed for connection by moving around Nest Connect and Wi-Fi router.
We understand that having to reset your lock after an outage can be frustrating. A restart of your router and wireless devices, including the Nest Connect should allow for a refresh of IP addresses assigned to each device to re-establish a connection.
