Just wish there was a sensor that would know when the door is closed or not. We sometimes leave the door open on nice days and i have it set on auto lock after 5 minutes. Well it pushes the deadbolt out whether the door is closed or not.

Disappointed to date
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was purchased as a part of an install of in-ceiling speakers, Nest Hello doorbell/camera, and two Nest Learning thermostats. The other items went well, the Nest/Yale lock would not pair with the Connect WiFi device that came with the lock. The installer tried many times, and we contacted Nest support via phone. They could not get it to work either. Thinking the lock was defective, I volunteered to go to a store and exchange it. The installer asked if he could return later in the afternoon, as he had another install. Best Buy exchanged the lock...no problem. The installer returned after completing another install of thermostats and this lock and had no issues there. The lock would still not connect. I had worked with Nest support and they sent recommendations. I spoke with my ISP and router manufacturer and took their input as well. Still wouldn't connect. I have a fair amount of tech connected via WiFi and plenty of bandwidth with a 200 Mbps feed. Nest support told me they were submitting the issue to "engineering" and would get back to me within 5 business days. That was July 5th and as I write it is Aug 30th. Not sure if the lock will EVER work correctly.

I wish the button volume was a bit louder or haptic so I would know that I pressed the code. Totaltech install was awesome, too.

The striker plate had to modify the striker plate a bit and every now and rhen it has difficulty recognizing when we hit the Yale logo to get the numbers to show so we can unlock the door. But I love that I can now lock and unlock my door from my phone so like checking door without having to get out of bed.

The verdict is still out as to how long the batteries last. It requires 4 double A batteries which im not find of. If the last a reasonable about of time before needing to be replaced that will make it a great buy.
