    This switch works perfectly for a stand-alone network or as a stub on a larger network. I purchased two of these - one for each purpose. As a stub to the larger network, new devices connect and handshake with the DHCP Server with no issues. As a stand-alone network, the Linux-based infrastructure communicates just fine. The only complaint is the power cord is less than a meter long, which makes it necessary to provide a power strip or UPS to plug in to.
