    Perfect out of the box!

I have two of these units. One is in the family room and used to connect a Blu Ray, Direct TV Receiver, and Samsung LED TV to the Internet. The other connects an Internet radio, Dircect TV receiver and computer in a bedroom. I prefer a wired connection for the security and faster throughput. This unit is true plug and play. All I had to do was connect the ethernet line from my router to one of the five ports and the other four were automatically configured and running. It took longer to unpack the box than to get the system up and running. The units are a little pricey, but work flawlessly with my Cisco Valet router.

Setting this up was a no brainer, added 4 more devices to my home network in less than 10 minutes! Speed is incredible becaue of the Gigabit ports, works fantastically with my Netgear wndr3700 router, no conflicts what so ever, I would buy this a hundred times more if necessary, so cheap and such a great quality!

    Simple and small foot print

I bought this switch to be able to plug my tv, blu ray and HTPC to my router. It's very smal and although it doesn't have rubber feet (like, I think the older version had) so it can stay still (it's very small and lightweight, so any stiff cable will drag it), any place you put it will barely be noticeable. It will hold high speeds within your network (assuming that your router has Gibabit connections), for internet it will depend on the speed of your connection. it can deal with all connections at the same time no problem. Now I don't really know how bright the lights are since i have paper on top of it to hide them, but they don't seem very bright (it might be different at night).

I added this gigabit router at an entertainment center in my home. I connected Playstation, Apple TV, and an internet-capable home theater. What's amazing is I just plugged everything in and turned it on--worked like magic! Allows superfast downloads of movies and no-lag online gaming. Highly recommend this product for ease of use and capability.

I bought this so that I could connect to my network disk at 1Gb. Simply works...just plug it in a go. The lights let you know what speed is being used for each port. I also like the vertical stand...looks cool. Thought the price was a little high but best buy usually is a little higher then online shops.

Switches are simple these days, as they should be. Idiot proof. This one even looks nice. Fired it up and away we went .... delivering gobs of Internet fodder all day long. No burps, no whines. Easy to install, even a kid can do it. Clear instructions if its your first time at the wire.

I use this unit to connect my satellite receiver with DVR, HDTV and Blu-ray DVD to the net. Quick and easy. Small size made it easy to place out of the way and bright indicators let me see I'm up and running without having to stand right next to the unit.

This item is a snap to set up. Plugged it into my network and I was able to see all of my devices. I like that it has Gigabit capability. It is a lot faster than the 10MB switch this replaced!

I wanted to run a wired connection to the other end of my house. I ran the cable, connected the switch and it worked great right out of the box. It's been running great for a couple of months with no glitches.

    Perfect - works seamlessly with AT&T U-Verse

I bought an XBOX 360 in Dec 2010 and was unable to connect it to my AT&T U-Verse gateway (2 Wire 3800HGV-B) either by wire or wireless. I bought this switch and plugged my XBOX 360 into it, plugged the switch into the router (via a port in my living room) and it worked like a charm. No setup involved, no configuration on the gateway or anything. I had spent hours trying to get the XBOX 360 to connect to the network. This Netgear gateway is the perfect answer. Setup occured in under a minute. I had a return on investment in under 5 minutes.

    Solid Ethernet Switch

I purchased this product about a year ago. Plugged it in to the network and connected 2 PCs and 2 Macs. No configuration needed. So far, no complaints. It was up and running in a few minutes. The switch has been running non-stop 24/7 without a glitch. I do a lot of multimedia and video streaming at work. The performance transferring large video files and streaming high bit rate videos has been excellent so far. It is a good solid Ethernet switch and I'm very satisfied with its performance.
