    Best Speed for Wired Connection

If you have a wired connection and want best speed, you need this router. All the marketing is geared to wireless connections and speed but if you are one of the rare breed like me you have to pay attention to the speed of the wired ports. This router has 10/100/1000 bps. Most only have 10/100 bps. Use this router and 6G cable and you will get the best you can get with a cable connection.

I got this to replace a Cisco SE2500 gigabit switch that died after just 7 months of use. Found this item online, called my local BB store; they had one; went down and bought it, and 30 minutes later I'm back home and up and running again. The Cisco switch I replaced has all it's indicators on the back so it was hard to view it's status. This one has it's indicators in front and they appear color coded for speed (100mbps=yellow, 1gbps=green#. I like that is has a vertical stand, though it's thin plastic. I also like the 2 year warranty vs. 1 year for the Cisco #and my Cisco was a refurbished one so only got 90 days on it). Price was the same as the Cisco also.

Neat features, fast and user friendly

I'm really impressed with the user friendly interface, the "status" led's on the front and the compact size. This switch does exactly what it says, works quickly #I don't have a way to test transfer speeds, but I've noticed a difference, especially vs. my wireless network. I noticed when I started plugging in different wires to different devices that there were green numbers and yellow numbers. I wasn't able to determine exactly what the issue was until I switched some wires around and noticed the "yellow/green" colors followed the respective wire. After a brief google search I found out a yellow indicator means the speed is 10/100 and the green indicator is /1000, the obvious reason I purchased this switch. I've since used it to find out what cables I have that are gigabit speed vs 10/100 and thrown those out. I'm currently using cable internet, into a netgear router/switch WNDR 3700 v2 for wireless PS3, x2 WII, x2 Apple TV, x3 laptops, magic jack, PC & iMac, x3 wireless IP Cameras and an additional PS3, XBox and additional wired IP Camera and Buffalo 6tb NAS . You can see we had a lot of use from the router/switch. I noticed a huge lag while trying to use the Apple TVs netflix and itunes so I opted to introduce this switch to lessen the wireless demand. Now I have moved the switch so it is directly wired into the router, just on the opposite side of the house via CAT6 and it directly serves the NAS, PC & IMac, the PS3, XBox. The router/switch supports the new Smart TV IP Camera and Magic Jack. One of our main issues was we stream a lot of itunes video movies/tv shows to the apple TVs from the PC. Now the PC is direct to the Switch -> Router/Switch -> Wireless to Apple TVs. We are getting another switch this weekend to piggyback off the existing router/switch to tether into the apple TVs and smart tv which has to currently be manually connected after removing the magic jack. Overall, I'm impressed.

I tried to set up a voice over IP phone system in my company housing 10 offices with our actual router being connected in the building right next door to us.... Don't ask me, the technician set it up that way. We Only one had one Ethernet cable. It was a struggle for about 1 month amtrying to come up with an answer until I came in to Best Buy and discovered this. In a 5 minute install, my troubles were over and everything works perfectly.

    No nonsense switch.

Excellent switch. It's been a while since I've invested in a switch, and before so, the switches I owned had an uplink port (the last port) that can be used for uplink when you press a button. This switch doesn't have that uplink port or button; any port now works to split the signal. For the price, performance, and name, it is hard to beat what's available on the shelf at a BestBuy store.

    Excellent Ethernet switch

I use this both for my home computer and streaming direct to my TV, sometimes at the same time, without any noticeable drop in performance, even while watching HD content. Out of curiosity I ran speed tests on my computer with my modem hard wired directly to my computer and through the switch and have experienced no change. Installation was a breeze. Take it out of the box; plug in the power and the Ethernet cables and your good to go.

I was worried how much I was going to have to spend for a switch and I wanted a gigabit one at that. This was really reasonable. Has worked continuously for the last two weeks with no problems. So far so good.

    Well constructed bag

Don't expect to sfuff a traditional style DSLR into the outside access compartment of this bag. It is not going to happen, A mirrorless with a normal or small zoom lens will fit. However, I reversed the normal way of using this bag, extra zoom lens in the outside compartment for quick access and camera stored inside. Works fine...bag is light, roomy and well made. Can't go wrong if you check it out with your gear before you buy it.

This has been a great product, i thought because it was netgear it might have problems, but i will say i am impressed. It works great for me. II have cable modem 3 games systems, 3 dvr's, 2 laptops, 1 blueray player, and a home bridge for my wireless door locks that i have and it handles like a champ!!! Oh and a switch for the additional ports. Have not taken advantage of the usb function for storage, but plan to in the neat future.
