Only downside/potentially misinformation is calling it a 8 port switch. Realistically, you most likely will need to plug in something as the primary input (router) and then you only have 7 avail ports for devices.

wired ethernet connection for reliability

This NETGEAR switch works without any problem.

Hooked this up to my Google mesh “router” and lost me speed to my wired devices. Well made and actually looks nice so no need to hide it.
