Not much to say, it is the regular, run-of-the-mill, 8-port LAN switch. It has been very reliable and I have had no issues with any of my CAT5e/6 cables or devices connected. It simply works.

So far so good after about a month with my new Eero Pro WiFi. Needed a reliable switch due to the mesh system not having more than one Ethernet connector free on the base unit after the modem was connected. Plugged it in, connected about four other things I wanted hardwired and off WiFi, everything started working perfectly and it’s done so since. I originally tucked it behind my monitor, but I also like how all the blinky lights impress visitors who have no idea what they’re looking at. :-) I’ve had mostly hits and a few misses with Netgear stuff in the past; so far, a month in, this looks like another good hit.

It works exactly as expected and it works well! Make sure you connect this to a UPS or surge protector, plug in the ethernet cable going to your primary hub in port 1, then load up the other ports with whatever ethernet connections you have near this UNMANAGED switch. Remember this switch shares the bandwidth of that single Port 1 connector so any device on one of these switches will not be as fast as a device connected directly to the primary hub/switch/whatever, but if you're using this switch for a cluster of printers, VoIP phones, or entertainment center devices, you will never be even remotely concerned about that sharing of bandwidth. It came with an AC adapter with about a 6 foot/1.8 meter cord, but because of the size of the AC adapter it will take up two spots on a surge protector or one extra-wide spot because of the typical and bulky cube shape of the adapter. I would happily buy this product again and as long as it and anything connected to it are on surge protection and/or UPS, expect to get a very long life out of the switch.

I recently switched Internet Providers and my new WiFi Router only had 2 Gigabit ports. After a few days of cord swapping, I decided to pick up a switch to manage everything with a single cable running from my Internet router. I've used Netgear for years and I've been a happy camper and this was no exception. It was small, well built and worked immediately after flicking the on switch. Same speeds, latency but with 5 extra ports. (7 total after using the uplink port).

I had to replace my existing switch and chose the NETGEAR as a replacement because I have always found their equipment to be reliable in a work environment. I set it up and hooked up my equipment in a couple of minutes and everything worked like it should. This particular model is for Business, which I do not have, so it costs a little more, but it is built stronger and also comes with a lifetime warranty.

If you have ever been in the market for an unmanaged switch, it is nearly impossible NOT to come across this family of Netgear switches. I have a couple of these deployed in my home and I've deployed dozens of these in the field as well. They just... work. Purchased a new construction home and many of the rooms have ethernet pre-wired. Most stationary devices in my home are using ethernet and I use a mix of these Netgear 5-port and 8-port switches depending on the device load. There are TVs, streaming devices (5 Apple TVs), computers, gaming consoles, smart bridges, NAS, printers, mesh nodes, AV equipment (receivers, power amps), etc. all running through these switches and haven't had any issues with them. They are also great options for the small business segment. In fact, they are marketed for business use and come with a lifetime warranty. Most residential networking equipment these days are housed in a plastic chassis. The metal case certainly gives a premium feel in your hands over plastic and I personally like the simplicity of the design. My significant other disagrees and does not like the way they look. However, no complaints from her about buffering when she's binge watching her shows in 4K. Great option at this price point. Highly recommend!

We have four of these in our system. We’ve never had an issue and never had to reset one in many years of use. Eight ports works out well for use in media centers or backup hubs. It’s amazing how many devices need a network port. These help to keep almost all of our streaming media going over wired Ethernet leaving the WiFi open for laptops, etc. Never even had a power adapter give us an issue. Very reliable.

If you need more ethernet ports, this 1Gbps switch is what need. It will allow you to connect up to 7 more ethernet cabled devices. Highly recommended for TVs, Blu-ray, computers, printers. Things that are stationary and don't move. **WiFi should be used for things that do move around (watches, tablets, phones, *specific* wireless devices).**
