    This is my third Gigabit switch. The first one I bought was a 5 port Linksys, and after a few months it stopped working. Then I bought an 8 port Trendnet, and that lasted about a month and a half. I'm not sure what went wrong this them. I've only had the Netgear one for about a week, and so far so good. Hoping third times the charm.

    I had a 5 port gigabit switch I used for my home setup - needed more ports so I upgraded to this. I connect it from my router to hard wire my Phillips Hue Bridge, Apple TV, PC, Xbox, etc. Gets the job done and allows for hardwire Ethernet throughout my apartment.
