    This is a basic 1 GigaBit ethernet switch. No frills but none are needed. Throughput is consistent and we have had no issues with it.

    Got it due to needing more than the 4 connections on your standard wireless router. It allows me to use my other hard wire components now using this device. Not sure if it is slowing my connections down or not, so I can't comment on speed. Seems to do what I wanted it for.
