FOR SOME REASON I WAS EXPECTING BETTER SPEED BECAUSE MY SERVICE IS FIBER OPTICS BUT IT CANT KEEP IP WITH MY UPLOAD OR DOWNLOAD SPEEDS. BUT IT WAS THE BEST AT THE TIME. I AM USED TO IT AND WILL BE KEEPING IT. I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND IT.

I bought the NetGear 8 Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Switch for my home office to replace a slower 10/100 switch. All of my computers and router are GigE now and I needed a faster switch. the NetGear Switch was an excellent choice! Best "punch" for the money.

I purchased this unit to connect my A/V equipment together to reduce the number of active WiFi connections in my house. I connected this to a wireless router and now all connections go through that one WiFi connection to my main router. Works well.

It's a switch Connected and done What else can be said about a switch

I had to connect a small office network. These switches were inexpensive. I plugged them in and they worked without any problem.

we have a need for splitting off parts of our network to add more PC's.. great switch we have purchased at leas a dozen of these the last few years.

Contrary to one of the other reviews, this is a switch, not a router. I have had mine for a while (longer then the warranty) and have had at least one port go bad. Others seem to continue to work. I have both 1GB and 10/100 devices connected.

It was purchased to replace an older/slower hub. It's been a solid & reliable piece of equipment since then.

I did not keep this item it was to be a gift..I have and have used many netgear products and loved everyone

The switch has been very reliable until today when it refused to boot up. Only had he unit for 20 months. Switch is easy to set up and use.

Haven't had issues w this so far! Needed this as out prior switch didn't have enough ports.

We need good switch of 1gig and we got the best . We very thankful

It is a great basic router. Get this one if you do not heed a wireless one.

With more and more devices be coming interconnected and using wireless access, 4 ports on the wireless router just is not enough.

I wish this switch was metal like their high quality switches. However, this one did the job.

My unit worked great for five years, then suddenly stopped passing any signal faster than 1.5Mbps on any port. The stated MTBF is 87,600 hours. Mine failed in half that time.

I needed a quick replacement for a switch so I picked up this Netgear 8 port Gigabit switch. I had it in use for about a year, and shelved it for a few months before taking it out for use again. After about a month of use the switch stopped booting. I would not recommend this product, a switch should last longer than just a little over a year.

NetGears Professional line is more expensive but the lifetime warranty more the covers the extra cost.

Bought this to replace TRENDnet Gigabit switch which just stopped working. I'm not able to get over 100Mbps for both download and upload that I used to have with the TRENDnet. I hoped the LEDs would indicate Link speed like green for 1000M and yellow for 10/100M but they don't. They all blink green.
