Plug and play. Easily handles the bandwidth of my AT&T modem (1 Gigabit fiber-optic). One connection to the modem split into 8; balanced distribution with smooth data flow, supplying three AT&T U-verse hard wired receivers and one Netgear Nighthawk wireless router. A total of 4 devices in service, but will eventually use them all.

did exactly what I wanted it to do.. It was quick and easy to install

Setup was incredibly easy, my whole home is hardwired with 8 cat5 lines for my electronics and its the only thing computer related that i have hooked up and never had to deal with since. wonderful!

Purchased this item for work, and so far it has been working great.

Plug and play unit. Inserted the Cat5 cable from the router in the room waaaaay down the hall into this unit. Used Cat5 cables to connect the tv, satellite box, and dvd player to this unit. All were able to connect to the router/internet as appropriate. No stuttering of playback of Netflix or other streaming sources even at our low CenturyLink speed of 1MB/sec.

This product was purchased to replace a switch that got zapped in a thunderstorm. It has performed flawlessly and was a great value for the money. I have never had issues with Netgear products, and this one is no exception.

I had wires going every which way,over my door,under my couch,just above my cats kitty litter,and it all came to a screeching halt when mr. good luck came along and introduced me to the netgear 8 port 10/100/1000 gigabit unmanaged switch doohickey--now,not only do I not have wires running up and down my backside,but I've got a smooth sleek piece of equipment thats even got flashing lights,the kind you might see in one of those sci-fi flicks where NASA's walls are plastered with fancy activations that almost seem intelligent--and for what,a couple of bucks--maybe you deserve to be awash in a sea of unwavering wires that you told the wife is only a pastime-
