Replaced an older switcher that had failed, works great and was a bette deal than other models I compared it to.

This made it easy to add game consoles and other items to my network.

Switch was easy to set up and install. Works fine without any problems.

Easy setup and works like a charm, I would recommend it if you have multiple rooms hardwired in your house.

This kind of equipment is pretty straight forward without room for a lot of bells and whistles. This switch does exactly what I need it to. At first I thought the 5-port version would be plenty, but turns out 8 ports was the perfect number for me. Yes, I know I should probably have known precisely how many I'd need; what I didn't know was how many I'd WANT after installing it and seeing I had space to plug in a couple other devices!

Really helps if you're house is all hardwired back to your main router.

I have been very familiar with Netgear products for a number of years and have found them to be reliable and inexpensive. This was no exception to that rule. We are a cord cutting house, but sometimes that just means you are swapping one cord for multiple. In our case, we have an Appletv, Roku, Tivo Roamio, Samsung Tv, and a Tablo in one confined area. In switch terms, i needed at least 6 ports to serve all the boxes (including one port for the Internet feed). This switch performed the task admirably. My only worry was the front panel lights were very bright. After i was sure everything worked, i simply put a piece of tape to cover the lights. If you need this scale of Ethernet switch, you probably won't be making a mistake buying this one from Netgear.

Have this unit outside switching 8 different things. Powered through cat5 (brown/white) and it works flawlessly. It’s in a (cable company) box. But it’s been rainy and hot and had no issues. Would definitely recommend it. Although it is only through putting 100mbps and I have a gigabit network. Could be my fault, I used my own Cat 6 cable and maybe messed up a connector. Too lazy to go back and check them all. Works great for what I ask of it.

Great switch with 8 ports, speed is excellent. If you need multiple ports, go for this switch.

Works perfectly and gigabyte speeds. 5 ports was not enough but this 8 port worked perfectly for my home office needs.

It is a ethernet switch... the only thing that could be great or not so great would be if it did the laundry or it did not work. It works fine (and does not do the laundry) so I rate it as average. If I had had more time I would have bought it on line and probably saved a few dollars - but in general Best Buy prices are usually very close to the lowest to be found.

I use this item in a corporate network environment to extend an area and not have to pay for additional data drops. Does not cause issues with upstream cisco stack switches or fabric extenders.

Extremely easy to install and it has been working perfectly for the past month!

Just pull this switch out of the box, plug everything in and you are done. Gave me all the extra ports I needed.
